Atishi Marlena is all set to become Delhi's new Chief Minister after Arvind Kejriwal resigned from his position. Let us inform you that Arvind Kejriwal stepped down from the position of Delhi's CM after his name was dragged in the Delhi liquor scam case. He was in jail for quite some time, and while he had been granted bail, he was asked to resign from his position as per the conditions.Â
Atishi Marlena comes from a family of great scholars in Delhi. Her mother, Tripta Wahi, and her father, Vijay Singh, are both professors at Delhi University. Atishi, who was born on June 8, 1981, and holds 14 portfolios, including finance, education and revenue. In fact, she was the one who held the fort while Arvind Kejriwal was in jail. Soon, she will take the position of Delhi's CM as the third women minister, after Congress' Shiela Dikshit and BJP's Sushma Swaraj.Â

Atishi started her academic journey at Springdale School on Pusa Road. In 2001, she attended the famous St. Stephen's College to pursue her undergraduate studies. She then went to Oxford University and completed her Master's degree in History in 2003. In 2005, she attended Magdalen College after she was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship.Â
Atishi, who is married to Praveen Singh, adopted a middle name, 'Marlena', due to her ideological background. The name 'Marlena' is a combination of the names Marx and Lenin. In 2018, she dropped it due to political reasons and potential misunderstandings. There were rumours that Atishi's middle name was linked to communist ideology.Â
Atishi Marlena is married to Praveen Singh. Just like her parents, her husband is also an educationist and a researcher. Praveen was employed and got his degrees from IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad. They had an interesting story, as their love for social work brought them together. For the unversed, Praveen is doing social work for many years.Â

Atishi and Praveen Singh first met in Delhi. They shared a similar interest in working for the betterment of society. Their love story started while working on a project in Madhya Pradesh in 2007. They found solace in each other's company and later got married.Â
