Ranveer Singh's upcoming film, Dhurandhar, which is all set for a theatrical release on December 5, 2025, has been making a lot of headlines since the past few weeks. A few days ago, late Major Mohit Sharma's parents had gone to Delhi High Court and filed a petition against Aditya Dhar's film. They also demanded a stay on the film's release. Well, the wait is over, the Delhi High Court has given their verdict.
For the unversed, on November 28, 2025, parents of late Major Mohit Sharma filed a petition in Court, claiming that the film, Dhurandhar appears to be inspired by Mohit Sharma's life, his undercover operations and more. They shared that a martyr is "not a commercial commodity", and no one has the right to use their life for profit, especially without consent. Recently, Delhi High Court dismissed their plea and gave a green light to the release of Dhurandhar. Apart from this, the Court also instructed the Central Board of Film Certification to carefully understand the matter and hear out all the objections of the parents of Mohit Sharma.

All of this started when late Major Mohit Sharma’s brother, Madhur had taken to his X (formerly Twitter) handle on November 24, 2025, to question the director of the film, Aditya Dhar. Madhur had tagged the filmmaker and shared:
"Respected @ndtv, A credible media house is expected to report facts and not mere speculations. People are having a field day adding to it. The parents are waiting for that one confirmation whether this is about their son. @AdityaDharFilms I don't think it's Mohit, do you?"

On November 26, 2025, Aditya Dhar replied to him and officially revealed that his film, Dhurandhar is not based on the life of late Major Mohit Sharma. Aditya also shared that if he ever makes a biopic on the brave soldier, he will do it with consent. He had shared:
"Hi, sir - our film Dhurandhar is not based on the life of brave heart Major Mohit Sharma AC(P) SM. This is an official clarification. I assure you, if we do make a biopic on Mohit sir in the future, we will do it with full consent and in complete consultation with the family, and in a way that truly honors his sacrifice for the nation and the legacy it has left for all of us. Jai Hind."

Apart from the parents of late Major Mohit Sharma, a few days ago, Naureen Aslam, the wife of a Karachi cop also raised questions on the film, Dhurandhar. Naureen Aslam, the wife of late Chaudhary Aslam, raised questions on Sanjay Dutt's character, who will be essaying the role of 'Chaudhary Aslam'. She had shared that she is waiting for the film to release and after that if she feels her husband is portrayed in the wrong light, she will definitely take legal action.
