The Delhi High Court has finally taken a stern step in Sunjay Kapur's Rs. 30,000 crore inheritance case. The late businessman's will became a source of chaos within the Kapur and Kapoor clans after it left Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay's children, Samaira and Kian, with only Rs. 1,900 crores from the family trust. The two children approached the court seeking a larger share, and the high court has now asked Priya Kapur to respond to the plea.
The Delhi High Court has sought a response from the late Sunjay Kapur's wife, Priya Kapur, after Karisma Kapoor's children moved a plea seeking to inspect the original copy of their father's alleged will. Joint Registrar (Judicial) Gagandeep Jindal has issued notices to Priya Kapur and Shradha Suri Marwah, who is named as the executor in the document, to present their responses to the court.

Priya Kapur and Shradha Suri Marwah have both been given three weeks to file their replies. The reports revealed that Joint Registrar (Judicial) Gagandeep Jindal made the decision after the last hearing. The court will hear the matter again on December 16, 2025. The case has gotten more strained with every passing hearing.

The court was in session on November 17, 2025, for Sunjay Kapur's inheritance case. The court has now given Priya Kapur almost a month to file a reply. The plea was filed as part of a case brought by the children of Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor, Samaira and her brother, Kiaan. They have questioned whether the will is genuine. The will is said to deal with their father's assets, estimated at about Rs. 30,000 crore.

In the latest filing, Karisma and Sunjay's children have levelled fresh allegations in the ongoing dispute over their father's alleged will. The kids have claimed the document is "forged and fabricated". They have also argued before the Delhi High Court that the signature on the will is not their father's and was allegedly fabricated by Priya Kapur in collusion with the witnesses.

Priya Kapur has denied the allegations, and her counsel said the new application was filed only after they had called the children's earlier claims "bogus and baseless". During a previous hearing, her lawyer had argued that spelling mistakes cannot be deemed to make the will fake. He was quoted as saying:
"A will cannot be called fake because of spelling errors, and they have not even disputed Sunjay Kapur's signature."

Her counsel added that once this point was raised, the plaintiffs shifted their position and have now questioned the signature itself. In their latest application, Sunjay Kapur's children have asked for an inspection of the original will, which was submitted in court by executor Shradha Suri Marwah in a sealed cover on September 25, 2025, along with supporting affidavits. Their plea stated that they needed the original document to be properly assessed, as the copy was insufficient. The application was quoted as:
"It is submitted that inspection of the original copy of the alleged will is inter alia necessary for the plaintiffs to take appropriate steps regarding the genuineness of the said document."
