Delhi Crime Season 3 made all the right noise because it featured many famous faces. The stellar cast includes Shefali Shah, Jaya Bhattacharya, Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Sayani Gupta and Huma Qureshi, to name a few. The series will make you nostalgic due to Jaya, who has come back to the show, reprising her role as Sub Inspector, 'Vimla Bhardwaj'. She is shown to be a Juvenile Welfare Officer and reports to 'DIG Vartika Chaturvedi' played by Shefali Shah. Now, Jaya, a seasoned actress, opened up about sharing screen space with Shefali and spoke at length about her role as 'SI Vimla' in the hit crime series.
Jaya Bhattacharya, earlier on her Instagram handle, had shared that being a part of Delhi Crime Season 3 felt like a chance to pause, reflect, and also try a new style of acting. The actress as 'SI Vimla Bharadwaj' was seen single-handedly ruling the series. During an exclusive interview with BollywoodShaadis, the actress was asked about her equation with Shefali Shah, 'DIG Vartika Chaturvedi' a.k.a 'Madam Sir.' 'SI Vimla' a.k.a Jaya spoke at length about her role and shared:
"She's underdog child. I am one of the junior officers don't have much to command. But the point is every shoulder holds a responsibility, be it in any field. When that comes up it is every person's duty to rise up to it, take command and deliver. Be it acting or anywhere. That is what Vimla did. She is trained in a different way. She is trained to look out for children. Anything against children she will take the opportunity to command."

Jaya further revealed in the interview of being self-trained and learnt acting while on the job. She shared her learning experience while sitting in the editing and cursing herself. Jaya revealed talking on the screen as a third person and cursing, calling herself 'bewakoof'. This was because she felt she could do a scene much better. She used to cry during the editing way back in Lucknow back in 1992- 1993. In her words:
"I understood I can act. It is not delivering dialogues or laughing and crying with glycerine. It is something I learnt while working. Even though I worked with great actors, naamcheen actors, I used to feel.. every time I stood with these characters.. my heart used to go dhak dhak. Will I be able to or not? That gave me the strength that I will rather have to. Whoever has recommended me has put their trust on me to deliver. I cannot let them down or let myself down. My competition has been with me, not an outsider."

Jaya also shared that commitment towards whatever she does was ingrained in her by her dad. The seasoned actress who is being loved for her role in Kaneez, where her role as 'Zeenat Aapa' was commanding, has shifted her base from TV, OTT, and now large-format theatre. Jaya, known for playing strong women characters, revealed how her dad taught her to respect time. In her words:
"He never used to look right or left. Who is watching where and when.. he used to ab***. I used to feel sharam se pani pani hoh jate thi. He taught me to respect time and deliver to your best capabilities whether you know how to or not. There is no excuse to it. That is what my father taught me."
