Shefali Shah is back as police officer, 'Vartika Chaturvedi' in the newest series of Delhi Crime Season 3. She has been receiving a lot of positive responses for her role. However, Shefali remembered a time from the sets of Delhi Crime Season 1 when the cameraperson did not roll out the camera, and she performed a 12-page scene without even realising that it was not even captured on the camera.
Shefali Shah earlier sat down for an interview with IANS and remembered a scene from Delhi Crime Season 1 when the cameraperson forgot to roll the camera, and she performed the scene without even realising that her efforts were not captured. Shefali remembered how exhausted she was, crying because she could not complete a 12-page scene that day. She had told Richie Mehta of unable to do the same. She wanted the team to go home, take their reactions, but then she recollected how the cameraperson did not roll the scene. Shefali shared:
"I went up to Richie Mehta and said, ‘Please send everybody home. Take their reactions, send them home, we’ll keep shooting the whole night.’ He said, ‘No, but everyone wants to be there for you.’ Also, in the show, it’s been cut with various shots of the bus stand, etc. But when he was shooting it, he didn’t want to cut it. So, it was going in a whole go, and the guy forgot to roll. We did the whole scene, and we all looked at him like, ‘Are you serious?’'

She recalled of how she had to reshoot the scene as there was no option apart from the scene to not be redone. Shefali again did the scene with the same dedication and also intensity. Shefali, in the series, Delhi Crime, is shown to be an intelligent police officer and is seen leading the team through intense investigations. Vartika is shown to have her own set of political and public pressure. The Delhi Crime series has always been loved for its emotional narratives, real characters, and the challenges faced by the system in Indian law enforcement.

For the unversed, Shefali Shah, a national award-winning actress, played the role of 'DCP Vartika Chaturvedi', which is reportedly based on DCP Chaya Sharma. In the Best Drama category, Delhi Crime won the International Emmy Award. The show created a place as one of the best drama series on Netflix. Shefali Shah may not have had a voluminous filmography, but she has given power-packed roles. From essaying, 'Pyaari Mhatre' in Satya, 1998, to the famous 'DCP Vartika Chaturvedi' in Delhi Crime, she has been dedicated to her craft. Earlier, in an interview with Vogue, the actress revealed that the show was a medium for Indian artists to make a worldwide name. In her words:
"I believe there is more recognition for Indian talent across the globe and it has been there for quite some time. But this is going to re-emphasise and reinforce the credibility of talent that comes out of here."
