Deepinder Goyal's Zomato Bags Approval To Rebrand Itself As 'Eternal', New Logo Gets Unveiled

Food and grocery delivery company, Zomato has bagged the approval from its board to rename itself 'Eternal limited'. The company's CEO, Deepinder Goyal recently shared the news, and the brand also unveiled the new logo for the food-tech giant. Eternal will comprise four major businesses, Zomato, Blinkit, District and Hyperpure. The corporate website is changing from zomato.com to eternal.com, and the stock ticker symbol is also moving from Zomato to ETERNAL. Well, while it's a huge surprise for all the food lovers on the month of love: February, let's have a look at what Deepinder Goyal has shared in his letter to shareholders.

Deepinder Goyal reveals the actual reason he started Zomato

It was on February 6, 2025, when Deepinder Goyal took to his X (Twitter) and shared an announcement, which was linked to his letter to shareholders. In his letter, Zomato's new logo for Eternal was used. Deepinder Goyal, in a formal way, bared his heart out and revealed how the company, Zomato began from scratch with a simple desire to serve, and now where it reached. Deepinder added that while Zomato has made tremendous wealth, not just for him but for his employees as well, his primary desire with this platform was never to earn money but he wanted to do something worthwhile. Deepinder Goyal further mentioned in the letter how Zomato was an accidental company that has reached the world of business, along with empowering everyone who is connected with this platform.

Deepinder revealed that when Zomato first collaborated with Blinkit, they had started calling it 'Eternal' to differentiate it from the company and brand. He added that they have decided to rename the company to Eternal the day something beyond Zomato became a significant driver of their future, and he feels with Blinkit, they are there, thus, they would like to rename it. He also added that it's not just a name change but a mission statement. Well, the app's name remains the same, while the company's name is being changed to Eternal. Deepinder mentioned in his letter:

"When we acquired Blinkit, we started using "Eternal" (instead of Zomato) internally to distinguish between the company and the brand/app. We also thought that we would publicly rename the company to Eternal, the day something beyond Zomato became a significant driver of our future. Today, with Blinkit, I feel we are there. We would like to rename Zomato Ltd, the company (not the brand/app), to Eternal Ltd."

Zomato's flirty notifications are something that often leaves people blushing throughout the day and no wonder that everyone loves them. When Deepinder Goyal arrived on The Kapil Sharma Show, Kapil Sharma asked him about the same. Kapil asked Deepinder if he typed the flirty messages for his wife, Gia and mistakenly sent them on the app.

Deepinder Goyal then hilariously revealed that this actually has happened that he had typed flirty messages for his wife, and thought it to be innovative for his app's famous notifications, thus he ended up sending it to his marketing team to use them. He also playfully added that he had told his marketing team to make a 'relationship' with the consumers, and the team, being young, had taken it seriously.
