Not only his independent daughter, Deepika Padukone has made her mark in the entertainment industry, she has married a man, who is head-over-heels in love with her and is proud of his wife’s accomplishments. Like Deepika Padukone shares a daughter-type relationship with the Singh-Bhavnani family, Ranveer Singh is considered as a son in the Padukone clan. Deepika and Ranveer leave no chance to shower their love on each other and also emphasise on the importance of family in their life, time and again. The love they have for their families is quite evident through their social media posts.
On June 10, 2020, Deepika Padukone’s father and former badminton player, Prakash Padukone turned 65 and to mark this special occasion, his super-talented and loving daughter posted a throwback picture on her social media profile. Sharing a childhood picture with her daddy, Deepika penned a heartfelt wish for her ‘greatest off-screen hero’. Deepika captioned her post as "To the greatest off-screen hero I could have ever had! Thank You for showing us that being a true champion is not only about one’s professional achievements, but also about being a good human being! Happy 65th Birthday, Pappa! We love you! #pappa #padukone."
Prakash Padukone had made his nation proud when he became the first Indian badminton player to win the All England Open Badminton Championships in 1980 (40 years ago). Her daughter and son-in-law, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh had penned heartfelt messages for him on social media. Deepika had tweeted, “Pappa, Your contribution to Badminton and Indian Sport is immeasurable! Thank You for your inspiring display of dedication, discipline, determination and years of hard work! They don’t make you like you anymore... We love you and are proud of you! Thank You for being you!” followed by a heart emoticon. Deepika Padukone’s doting husband and Padukone family’s loving son-in-law, Ranveer Singh had taken everyone on a nostalgic road by posting some throwback pictures of Prakash Padukone. Along with it, the proud son-in-law had written, “40 years ago on this day, #PrakashPadukone changed the fate of Badminton forever. He won the All England Championship in London’s Wembley Arena, creating history for Indian sports. On May 29, 2020, Deepika Padukone had taken to her IG handle to post a screenshot of the conversation on her family chat group. The snapshot of the chat had revealed the entire Padukone and Bhavnani families, appreciating her ‘handsome’ hubby, Ranveer Singh. Deepika had captioned it, "And this is how we roll... Whenever anyone in the family has a big day, the rest of us tune in. Like in the case above. Everyone appreciated an interview my husband did recently. Similarly, there are times when we get pulled up or get given feedback on what we could have done differently or better. And that to us is the most valuable!"
In an interview with the Film Companion’s Anupama Chopra, Deepika Padukone had revealed why her doting hubby, Ranveer Singh complains about her on their family chat group. Deepika had said, “My mother always says it, Ranveer keeps saying it, ‘Can you sit in one place? Can you not have to do something all the time?’ And I don’t know. I am always up to something, my mind is always occupied. He calls it ‘phat-phat’ and then he complains on the family group.” Recalling a lockdown incident, Deepika had continued, “I sprained my back two days ago when I was ‘cleaning’. And then I was bored. So he made sure before he went down to the gym, he said ‘You’re not moving from here you’ve sprained your back’. And he made a surprise visit in 20 minutes and I was not in my bed I was up on a shelf, trying to clean something and he got really wild. ‘Can you not do this phat phat all the time?
