India is poised to take its entertainment industry a step further with the inauguration of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai on May 1, 2025. The summit kicked off in style at the prestigious Jio World Convention Centre and will span for four days, featuring some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry from around the world.
Among the early public appearances was Bollywood's beloved, Deepika Padukone. The actress has been gradually returning to her work after giving birth to her daughter, Dua Padukone Singh. While the Om Shanti Om actress looked absolutely stunning in the beige-coloured salwar suit, she had a slight malfunction with her outfit.
While Deepika Padukone's outfit looked absolutely flawless at first glance, the actress experienced some difficulty with her dupatta. A clip that has now been going viral on social media platforms showed that Deepika's dupatta kept slipping out of place. However, it was Mira Rajpoot Kapoor who came to her aid. In the candid video, Mira can be seen fixing Deepika's dupatta. After she properly secured the garment, Deepika gave Mira a warm hug.
As soon as the video was shared by Pinkvilla on their X handle, netizens started chiming in to share their views on the same. A user penned, "Awww, so sweet of Mira and the hug at the end was cute. Good to see Mira and DP together." Another wrote, "So sweet of Mira. And some people literally hate her just for existing and doing her own thing." A comment read, "Where are those jokers who were comparing Ranveer and Shahid and Deepika for no reason." A commenter stated, "Sweet of Mira to help Deepika."

These included Deputy Chief, Minister Eknath Shinde, Maharashtra Governor, C.P. Radhakrishnan, and Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, among others. The Indian cinema also came together at the summit with Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hema Malini, Anil Kapoor, Rajinikanth, Mohanlal and others.
The filmmakers were not far behind in making sure they attended the grand event. Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar, and Oscar-winner, Guneet Monga also made their presence felt. Alia Bhatt attended the event with her husband and actor, Ranbir Kapoor. With three days still remaining, one can only imagine how star-studded the upcoming days might be.
WAVES 2025 is the first edition of this summit in India, organised by the Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. This year’s tagline is, 'Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries.' The four-day event will feature participation from over 90 countries, including 1,000 creators, more than 10,000 delegates, over 300 companies, and over 350 startups.
