The D-day is finally here when Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will become husband and wife to each other. And yesterday, i.e. November 13, 2018, witnessed the grand mehendi and sangeet ceremonies of the couple amidst blue waters at Villa del Balbianello of Lake Como, Italy. Considering the no-phone rule inside the venue, the long-awaited pictures and videos from DeepVeer’s pre-wedding functions haven’t surfaced online.
However, as per reports, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s sangeet ceremony was an emotional and overwhelming affair last night. As per reports, when the legendary singer, Shubha Mudgal performed during the sangeet ceremony, Deepika got emotional and she started crying. Hubby-to-be, Ranveer got up and hugged her. The report suggests, “Shubha Mudgal was performing a thumri when Deepika Padukone got emotional and was in tears. When she broke down, Ranveer, who could understand her emotional state, walked up to her and hugged her tight and consoled his lady love. He ensured she was smiling again with all his crazy love antics.”

Well, this is something we have always expected from Ranveer. After all, he has proven to be a doting beau for Deepika time and again. Also, other reports have been suggesting that Deepika and Ranveer officially exchanged rings in a Konkani traditional Phool Muddi ceremony. In the Phool Muddi ceremony, the families of both bride and groom meet and perform puja and offer prayers. Further, the coconuts and turmeric powder are exchanged and the father of the bride washes the groom’s feet and formally welcomes him into the family.
Reporters from various media houses are stationed outside the wedding venue. But due to the tight security none have been allowed even a glimpse inside. One such report from Italy described the venue as, “The ambience at the event was electric. Ranveer Singh has enjoyed the most at the Mehendi ceremony. He danced his heart out while his lady love was busy getting the Mehendi done. Old songs were being played. First Shubha Mudgal performed, followed by Harshdeep Kaur. Romantic songs, ghazals and sufi songs were performed. Followed by a performance by Ranveer. He also danced on the beats of dhol.”
Another report claimed, “The security has been very strict and hence no photos of the bride and the groom have come out on social media. The phone cameras were sealed with stickers. Deepika’s family and Ranveer’s family too shook a leg with their kids. While Deepika got done a designer Mehendi, Ranveer Too has got done a little design on the hand with #DeepVeer written.”
Earlier, on October 21, 2018, Deepika and Ranveer had confirmed their wedding by releasing a joint statement which could be read as, “With the blessings of our families, it gives us immense joy in sharing that our wedding is set to take place on the 14th and 15th of November 2018. We thank you for all the love you have showered upon us over the years and seek your blessings as we embark on this incredible journey of love, loyalty, friendship and togetherness. Lots of love, Deepika and Ranveer.”
In an interview with Rajdeep Sardesai of India Today, Deepika earlier revealed her excitement and said, “I'm excited in the same way as I'm excited about signing my next film. Marriage is something that I've always looked forward to in my life, as would any other girl.”

She further added, “I've seen my parents do it so well and so successfully and I think for me, that's the way I would like my married life to be as well. My parents have a beautiful relationship. The way they have managed their professional life as well as being together as a family. They have set such amazing benchmarks that both I and my sister (Anisha Padukone) would like to follow.”
Today and tomorrow (November 14 and 15), in two wedding functions, DeepVeer will become each other’s forever. A report earlier suggested that owing to their different cultures there will be two weddings, “Since Deepika is a South Indian and Ranveer is of Sindhi-Punjabi origin, the two families decided to follow customs practised by both communities. A South Indian wedding has been planned for November 14, complete with Kannadiga rituals. The next day will see the couple solemnise their relationship as per the customs of a North Indian wedding.”
Well, we can’t wait for any photo, video or news from all the way to Italy. And guys, how did you like Ranveer Singh’s gesture during the sangeet ceremony when Deepika got emotional? Share your comments below.
