The duo got married back in 2018, and it was on 2024, when the couple welcomed their baby girl, Dua Padukone Singh into their lives. Deepika's world revolves around her little one, Dua, and if the reports are to be believed, she didn't even hire a nanny for the little one. Deepika Padukone recently sat for an interview on Marie Claire magazine, wherein she mentioned that she wants her daughter, Dua's childhood to be free from any kind of expectations. The actress said that she has a 'blueprint' ready for the kind of experience she wants her daughter to have while growing up. The actress gave a beautiful example of how she and her sister weren't burdened with their parents' hopes and dreams while growing up.

Deepika further mentioned that her father never sat with her and revealed that he had been a professional badminton player or a celebrity. Deepika mentioned that she remembered her father being a dad to her first, and it was much later that she got to know about his celebrity status, when people approached him for autographs. In Deepika Padukone's words:

"I don't ever remember my father sitting me down and saying, ‘Hey, I'm a professional badminton player and I'm a celebrity.’ I remember it being he was a father first and everything that we got to know of him was based on just our own curiosity and the fact that everything was just so normal. It was in fact only much later on in our lives where we found out that our father was a celebrity—when people approached him for autographs.”

In the same interview, Deepika Padukone stated that although Dua is the daughter of the most famous celebs, her innocence needs to be protected. She didn't delve deeper into this discussion and kept the details to herself while stating that she's not sure about how Ranveer would react to this. The actress expressed her happiness at being a mom to Dua and mentioned that every couple of days, she and Ranveer look at their daughter when she sleeps, and then they look at each other, thinking that it happened to them. Deepika can be quoted as saying:

"I don't know how much of this Ranveer is going to be okay with me saying. You've always wanted something. And there it is in your hands…Every couple of days she'll be sleeping and Ranveer and I will look at her and then just look at each other and be like, we can't believe this has happened to us."

She shared how every part of her body was in pain and how the rib pain was unbearable. In the same conversation, Deepika said that it took her and Ranveer two months to select the name of their daughter. The actress shared that she texted her husband in the middle of the night when she came up with the name 'Dua'. She revealed that she has come up with the name as it's exactly what the little one means to them.
