Deepak Dobriyal played the character of a police officer named 'Inspector Ram Charan Pandey' in the critically acclaimed crime thriller, Sector 36. The film also features Vikrant Massey as 'Prem Singh', who is the film's prime antagonist. The film is loosely based on the infamous 2006 case of Nithari Killings. While Vikrant has once again impressed the critics, Deepak Dobriyal overshadowed him in the audience's opinion with his acting. The actor has dropped everyone's jaws with his flawless acting in the film's standout and intense interrogation scene.
In a conversation with Mathrubhumi, Deepak Dobriyal opened up about his interrogation scene with Vikrant Massey in Sector 36. The critically-acclaimed actor addressed the compliments he is receiving for his expressions throughout the interrogation and shared that his reaction wasn't manufactured. Deepak Dobriyal explained that he kept things as natural as possible as he didn't control his emotions and let them flow as per Vikrant's dialogues.
Amidst all the praises that Deepak Dobriyal is receiving for his work in Sector 36, the actor admitted in an interview with PTI that he never expected the film to receive such a response. He also revealed that he was quite skeptical about playing a cop, but he is glad he took the challenge, as people appreciated his work. For the uninitiated, Deepak Dobriyal's Sector 36 is sitting in the top three of Netflix's Global Top Ten Films List (non-English) in 12 countries, which is a massive feat.

Even after doing theatre for many years, Deepak Dobriyal was finding it hard to break into the Hindi film industry. When Deepak came to Mumbai after doing theatre in Delhi for some time, he used to live in a small room with other struggling actors. Once, in an old interview, Deepak recalled the time when one of his friends took him to an audition by luring him for a plate of chowmein. The audition was for a role in Vishal Bharadwaj's film, Maqbool. Courtesy of his exceptional acting skills, Vishal signed him, and it simply took his career to a completely different level.
Deepak Dobriyal started receiving a series of roles in Bollywood after the release of Maqbool, however, most of the roles were of a servant. Many filmmakers typecasted the actor for the role of a servant or peon. The actor was told that he was too slim for main character roles. However, after a wait of three years, in 2006, Vishal Bharadwaj cast Deepak in Omkara as 'Rajju Tiwary'. The actor proved that if given the right opportunity, he can stun everyone with his acting. Deepak won the Filmfare Special Award for his work in Omkara.
In the following years, Deepak Dobriyal won audiences' hearts with his acting performances in films, including Shaurya, Delhi-6, Gulaal, 13B, Daayen Ya Baayen, Tanu Weds Manu, Teen Thay Bhai, Tanu Weds Manu: Returns, Hindi Medium, Laal Kaptaan, Kaamyaab, Angrezi Medium, Bhediye, Bholaa, Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo, and many more.
Talking about Deepak Dobriyal's wife, Lara Bhalla, she is a filmmaker by profession. According to several reports, Lara has worked in Omkara, The Darjeeling Limited, and Kaminey. As per IMDb, Deepak and Lara got married on January 17, 2009. If the reports are to be believed, Lara and Deepak met on the sets of Omkara, and while working together in the film, they fell in love and decided to spend the rest of their lives together. The couple is blessed with two children, Siddharth and Leela. We hope Deepak continues to make his mark in Indian cinema with her powerful acting performances in his upcoming films.
