Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary are one of the most adored duos of Indian television who not only won hearts with their portrayal of 'Ram' and 'Sita' in the TV series, Ramayan, but their real-life love story is adored by generations. The iconic pair are set to make a grand comeback after nearly 10 years in Colors TV’s upcoming reality show, Pati Patni Aur Panga: Jodiyon Ka Reality Check. 

Debina and Gurmeet say it feels amazing to return after nearly ten years

In an interview with ToI ahead of the show’s premiere, the couple opened up about what it truly means to be back together on screen after 10 long years. Last seen together in reality shows like Nach Baliye and Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2013, Debina and Gurmeet are all set to return in an entirely different show, one that explores their real dynamics as a couple. 

Speaking about working with a production after a long break, Debina shared how excited they feel to be back together. Gurmeet chimed in with a similar sentiment, sharing that television has always been their fundamental area of work, and returning to a TV show after so many years feels exciting. He said:

“We last did Khatron Ke Khiladi and Nach Baliye as proper projects. It feels amazing to come back after 10 years. Television has always been our field. I consider myself lucky that I’m doing TV, OTT, and films. What more could one ask for?”

Debina and Gurmeet reflect on how the audience has evolved since their last appearance

The entertainment industry today is a rapidly changing arena that is constantly evolving with new digital trends. Since 2013, the industry has witnessed a drastic shift, and audiences are now more involved in celebrities' personal lives than ever before. Debina and Gurmeet have embraced the digital era, actively connecting with fans through regular vlogs, social media updates, and heartfelt content.

Debina highlighted how their daughters, Lianna and Divisha, practically grew up with their fans in front of the camera. The couple shares not only their life highlights but also updates followers about their struggles. Reflecting on the same, Debina shared:

“You see me in vlogs. I shoot at home. My kids grew up in front of you, my struggle with them, and my weight loss journey. Along with this reality show, Guru is shooting for 2 more projects. It is a huge pressure for him. When we did Nach Baliye, there was no social media. Now with YouTube and Instagram, we’re connected more deeply with our audience. That’s why this project felt right.”

Debina and Gurmeet have seamlessly embraced the digital shift, regularly engaging fans through vlogs and social media. Debina, in particular, has shared her deeply personal journey, from IVF struggles to post-pregnancy transformation, on YouTube, earning admiration for her honesty. Speaking about her connectedness with her fans, Debina added:

“You’ve seen me grow, seen my kids grow, and seen me overcome challenges. For all the women out there who feel their careers end after kids, it’s not true. I’ve shown that a comeback is possible. But you must be fit, emotionally and physically.”
