De De Pyaar De 2, starring Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and R. Madhavan has hit the theatres on November 14, 2025. For those who don't know, Anshul Sharma's film is a sequel to the 2019 romantic-comedy film, De De Pyaar De. The recently released film is a refreshing story on love, age-gap and the chaos of convincing families. Read on to know the review of the film.
De De Pyaar De 2 follows a simple yet chaotic story of 'Ashish Mehra' (played by Ajay Devgn). He is a middle aged NRI, who has been divorced from his ex-wife, 'Manju' (Tabu) and now, he has fallen in love with 'Ayesha' (played by Rakul Preet Singh). After convincing his family, the couple has now come to take permission from 'Ayesha's' family. What begins as a polite and formal visit, soon turns into a chaotic and fun roller coaster ride.

'Ayesha's' father, 'Rakesh' (R. Madhavan) seems comfortable outside, but inside he is not okay with the age gap. On the other hand, his wife, 'Anju' (Gautami Kapoor) tries to be calm in the beginning, but soon starts judging the two. Slowly, 'Rakesh' looks for a better plan and invites 'Ayesha's' childhood friend. In the film, 'Rakesh' tries his best to pair up 'Ayesha' with her best friend, so that she forgets 'Ashish'.

One of the best parts of the film, De De Pyaar De 2 is its humour. Unlike many comedy films, there are no loud scenes or dark humour. Rather the laughter comes from small mistakes, awkward silence and moments when the characters are trying too hard to impress. And the best highlight is Ajay Devgn, who jokes about his own character from films Phool Aur Kaante and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. There is a scene, when a taxi driver cracks a joke on the way Ajay steps out from a cab, and it turns into a genuinely fun moment. Another scene that impresses the audience, is a conversation between Ajay and R. Madhavan, when their dialogues remind the viewers of the film, Shaitaan.

While Ajay Devgn stole the show in the first film, this time he played the role of 'Ashish' with maturity and he often allowed the silence to express his emotions. On the other side, it was Rakul Preet Singh who stole the show, with her warmth, innocence and confidence. Rakul Preet Singh as 'Ayesha' portrayed love and family values very beautifully. Despite the lead cast, R. Madhavan is one of the most exciting characters in the film. As 'Ayesha's' father, he delivers charm, protectiveness, confusion and humour very effortlessly. At times, his reactions elevate the entire scene.
