The Beckham family drama had been one of the major celebrity highlights of 2025, with fans closely watching and dissecting every public move. The same happened on the last day of the year. After raising eyebrows by noticeably keeping a Beckham member out of his 2025 recap, David Beckham softened hearts with a heartfelt move.
The British soccer legend, who alarmingly snubbed his eldest son, Brooklyn, out of his New Year’s Eve post on Instagram, shared emotional throwback photos on his Instagram stories just hours later. The move has fuelled fresh conversation about the infamous family feud.
On December 31, 2025, David Beckham posted a 20-slide Instagram carousel reflecting on what he described as some unforgettable highlights of the year. The post featured some key moments from his milestone year, including his 50th birthday celebrations, getting a knighthood from King Charles at Windsor Castle, and winning the MLS (Major League Soccer) as an owner. Beckham also shared photos of his wife, Victoria, and three of their children, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
One person who was noticeably missing from all 20 photos was his eldest, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham. No sooner had David posted the recap than fans started picking up on his absence, with many arguing that, all tensions aside, Brooklyn is still their son and David should have included him, especially since he included individual moments with each of his other kids.
Hours after the recap post, David took to his Instagram Stories to post a series of throwback photos from his soccer career, along with some family photos. One featured a black-and-white throwback photo of David holding a young Brooklyn, overlaid with the message, “I love you all so much.”

Another photo showed all four children huddled around their mother, Victoria Beckham, taken shortly after Harper’s birth. Sharing that precious moment, David wrote a message with five white heart emojis, making it feel deeply personal. He wrote, “You are my life, I love you all, Love Daddy x. On to 2026.” The timing of the posts feels intentional, especially after leaving Brooklyn out of the recap post.
Brooklyn has been noticeably absent from his parents’ social media posts for quite some time now, given the seemingly worsening tensions between them. In early December 2025, fans noticed that David and Victoria no longer follow Brooklyn on Instagram, nor does he follow them back. Brooklyn has also long unfollowed his brothers, Cruz and Romeo Beckham, on the platform. Separate reports have claimed Brooklyn blocked some relatives on social media.
For those still living under a rock, the Beckham family feud originated from long-standing rumours of tension between the Beckham family and its eldest heir, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. The couple occasionally makes pointed jabs at the estranged family with their social media posts.

Sources have previously linked the fallout to Brooklyn and Nicola’s 2022 wedding, where an alleged incident during the couple’s first dance reportedly left Nicola in tears after Victoria was invited onto the dance floor. Other reports have focused on claims of tension surrounding Nicola’s wedding dress, which she ultimately chose not to have designed by Victoria, but insiders have strongly disputed this narrative. Since then, Brooklyn and Nicola have skipped several major family events, including both of David and Victoria’s 50th birthday celebrations.
With David’s IG Stories on Brooklyn, the internet remains divided on whether the retired soccer player truly expressed a father’s love or it was just a subtle olive branch to his estranged son. What’s your take on it?
