'Curly Tales' Kamiya Jani Receives Backlash For Calling Janhvi Kapoor's Idli-Chicken Combo 'Weird'

Janhvi Kapoor is undoubtedly one of the most popular names in Tinseltown at present. Hence, people are always eager to know everything about the actress. So, to give them a sneak peek into Janhvi's life, Kamiya Jani, the founder of Curly Tales, had a one-on-one conversation with her over a brunch.

Janhvi Kapoor asks Kamiya Jani to try idli with chicken curry

Kamiya Jani recently visited Janhvi's Bandra home to speak with her at length about her professional and personal lives. During their interaction, the actress also offered the anchor a hearty home-cooked meal consisting of some South Indian and North Indian delicacies, including idli, chicken curry, paneer bhurji and moong dal chilla.

When they started having their food, Janhvi suggested Kamiya to have idli with chicken curry. This combination surprised the Curly Tales founder, who asked, "Wait. What? Chicken curry with idli?" She then further inquired if this combination was a legitimate thing or something that the actress had invented. Then, Janhvi was quoted as saying, "It's a papa (Janhvi's father, Boney Kapoor) thing." Once Kamiya started having the food, she mentioned:

"So this is Boney sir's special. Idli with chicken curry. I don't know how many of you have actually tried it. Chicken curry on idli. I'm very nervous to try this."

Kamiya Jani says she doesn't know how to eat idli with her hand

Further, Janhvi asked the Curly Tales founder to have food with her hand. To which, the latter said she doesn't know how to have idli with hand. Meanwhile, after trying the idli-chicken curry combination suggested by the actress, Kamiya said even though the food tasted good, it was still a 'weird combination'.

Netizens react to Kamiya Jani's remarks

This particular segment from the whole interview was posted by Curly Tales on their Instagram page. Netizens took note of Kamiya's remarks and some of them started calling her out for the same. One user said, "She doesn’t know idli with chicken curry, who gave her Aadhaar card." Another wrote, "It was one of those rare sights when the celeb was actually grounded and behaving normal, and the host had to prove that she isn’t desi enough to have ever eaten things like idli with hands."
