The director of the film, Mohit Suri, revealed that they intentionally kept the lead stars away from the promotions of the film, Saiyaara. He revealed that since the stars are new, the media would ask them meaningless questions, which would divert the audience's interest from the film to the actors. So, it was an intentional decision which they all agreed upon. He added that the decision was made seeing their past experience with Shraddha Kapoor. Mohit shared:
"Later, near the release of the film, we had to catch a flight back from Chandigarh, and while we were in the air, the first show of the movie broke out. Upon landing, I saw Shraddha and Aditya getting mobbed by the flight crew, fans and everyone around them, and the way they treated them after was way different. They weren't being praised for their looks, not how we pushed them, but what the audience saw and connected with."
