Cole Walliser Responds To Jennifer Lopez's 'Rude' Behaviour At Golden Globes Glambot, 'She Knew...'

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards took place just a few days ago on January 12, 2026. The event was star-packed, including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas, Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Munis, and many more. The night was full of memorable, fun moments. In fact, even after the event ended, several incidents from the Golden Globes have continued to draw netizens' attention. In one such instance, a clip featuring popular actress and singer, Jennifer Lopez has recently gone viral. In the video, the 56-year-old appears to be acting ‘rude’ toward the Glambot director, Cole Walliser. Now, Cole has come out and responded to the same.

One thing about being a celebrity is that different people will react differently to your actions. While some people will have a positive reaction, others might have the opposite reaction. This is what happened to Jennifer Lopez, who found herself in the midst of fresh controversy after attending the 2026 Golden Globe Awards. It was her very brief and allegedly ‘rude’ behaviour with the event's Glambot director, Cole Walliser, that sparked heated debate across social media. For those unaware, Jennifer arrived at the Glambot station wearing a beautiful vintage Scherrer by Stéphane Rolland gown featuring long sleeves and a mermaid silhouette.

Seeing the actress approach, Cole greeted her with his usual, “Hi, my dear.” According to reports, Jennifer glanced at him and responded to his greeting with a short “Hi” before looking back down. Continuing the conversation, Cole said, “Lovely to see you again, you look amazing!” To this, Jennifer replied with, “Nice to see you,” all while still looking down and not making any eye contact with the director. Even after Cole asked her if she had any pose in mind for her Glambot, she did not give an answer to his question verbally, but showed her intended pose to him instead. After getting the perfect shot, the duo's brief interaction came to an end, with Cole praising Jennifer by saying, “Slayed it as usual. Thank you very much!” 

No sooner had Jennifer and Cole's interaction at the Glambot station been posted on social media than viewers started flooding the comments by calling Jennifer dismissive of the director. One fan commented, “So ruuuuude! She completely ignored him: didn’t say a word and didn’t even look him in the eye while he was talking to her! Such bad manners!” Another social media user wrote, “She’s so rude! Everyone else acknowledges him. She’s unbearable!… can’t stand her!” A third comment read, “@jlo can this be a reality check for you? On how rude you are? On the way you carry yourself as if people are beneath you? Where is the ‘human’ in you, because we can’t see it.” 

Cole Walliser reacts to Jennifer Lopez's Glambot controversy  

The hate towards Jennifer Lopez got so out of control that Cole Walliser had to step in and address the situation directly. On January 19, 2026, Cole posted a video on his Instagram account, captioning the post, “Is this tea or is this just me talking about work?” As the video starts, Cole can be heard saying that people on the internet need to calm down about the whole ‘JLo’ situation, before explaining that he himself took no offence at Jennifer's actions. He said: 

“Even with J.Lo, like, I didn’t take it personally. It didn’t feel rude in that moment. I think there’s a couple things that added to the fuel of this idea. One, she’s just down to business. The carpet was closed. She’s ready to go inside. She knew what she was gonna do. She got into the position.” 

Cole Walliser further emphasised that he was fully aware of what Jennifer Lopez was doing. He explained that celebrities like her are often working under pressure, and even at an event like The Golden Globes, “they're there to do a thing.” Hence, recalling the moment with Jennifer, Cole revealed: 

“I knew what she was doing. I knew she was getting ready. I knew it was late. We were just getting through it. That moment didn’t feel rude.”
