Some questions have been continuously circulating in people's minds, including 'Will the world end on September 23, 2025?' or 'Is the end time near?' It is shocking to hear that, currently, TikTok is filled with such videos, with half of them criticising a prophecy about the Rapture, and some others being serious in form. It all began with Pastor Joshua Mhlakela claiming that he had a vision about Jesus Christ's return, which coincided with Rosh Hashanah, considered the Jewish New Year.
While some criticised it, some took it even more seriously, thereby selling their earthly possessions. Recently, a woman sold her home, believing that the Rapture might occur on September 23 or September 24, 2025, and revealed what convinced her that the end time is near. While people who believe in Christianity and the Bible often find that many of the messages here are metaphors or hold deeper meanings, as this RaptureTok is gaining traction on social media, some believe that this event might come true.
The woman who sold her home, while believing that the Rapture will come on September 23, 2025, recently dropped a video on her TikTok and said that she has decided to give all her earthly possessions to the heathens, who she believes won't go with them to meet Jesus, on the air, which the chosen ones can do only, as per the Chirstian beliefs. She also said that she had transferred her deed to her house and was now ready to give her car away. She was also giving some tips to believers about the Rapture, mentioning that it's not too late for people to be a part of it. The social media user has over a million followers, addressing whom, she said:
"As many of you know, the Rapture's on Tuesday. I've given away all my earthly possessions to the heathens that I know will not be coming with us, the chosen ones. I've already transferred the deed to my house. I just need to give this car away. I just wanna say it's not too late for you to be a part of the Rapture."
The Rapture is a belief in Christianity, which refers to the end times, when it's believed that Jesus will return to the Earth. According to Christian beliefs, when the Rapture happens, Jesus Christ's believers will be taken up in the air to meet with him in order to save them from the upcoming chaos on Earth, known as the Tribulation. There are other beliefs that the Rapture might occur before the Tribulation, after it, or during the same time, and this event is known as the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, a symbol of hope and salvation.
According to the Bible passage from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, Jesus Christ will return from heaven, first resurrecting his dead believers, and his living believers will be caught up with them before being taken to meet Jesus in the air, where they will receive eternal bodies that will resemble His glory. Notably, Pastor Joshua Mhlakela stated during an interview that 'Rapture is upon us, whether you are ready or not,' while claiming to have had a vision of Jesus sitting on his throne and stating, 'I am coming soon.'
