Charu Asopa Had A Broken Engagement And Two Failed Marriages, Ugly Divorce Battle, Now A Single Mom

Charu Asopa, once a popular name in the television world, is hailed for her roles in shows like Devon Ka Dev Mahadev, Baalveer, Mere Angne Mein, Jiji Maa and Kaisa Hai Ye Rishta Anjana. The actress is loved for her charming personality and enjoys an immense fan following. Charu is currently leading all the headlines after a video of hers went viral where the actress was seen selling suits online.

Soon after the video went viral, Charu spoke to Hindustan Times and revealed that she left Mumbai and had shifted to her hometown, Bikaner, Rajasthan. The monthly expenses in Mumbai were taking a toll on Charu, and additionally, she didn’t want to leave her daughter, Ziana, with a nanny during her outdoor shoots. The actress also revealed that leaving Mumbai was a conscious decision she took.

Charu Asopa originally hails from Bikaner, Rajasthan. Her first marriage was with a Marwari businessman in the year 2007. However, the marriage couldn’t last long because of compatibility issues and ended in a divorce after nine years in 2016.

After her divorce, Charu Asopa fell in love with actor, Neeraj Malviya. Neeraj played the role of her on-screen brother in the serial Mere Angne Mein. In 2016, they got engaged in Rajasthan. Later, the lovebirds hit a rough patch in November 2017 and called off their engagement. While Charu was still hopeful for a reconciliation, Neeraj had confirmed their breakup and had said that it was better not to have a relationship rather than to have a weak one.

After her broken engagement with Neeraj, Charu had found love again and had started dating, Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen’s brother, Rajeev Sen. After dating each other for a while, Charu and Rajeev tied the knot in 2019. In 2021, the duo welcomed their daughter Ziana.

Ever since Charu and Rajeev got married, the couple had compatibility issues. The duo decided to part ways in 2022, and she had even sent him legal notice, but later, the duo patched up for the sake of their daughter, Ziana.

After a few months of their reconciliation, Charu and Rajeev garnered limelight for their marital problems. This time the couple publicly accused each other and left no stone unturned to wash their dirty linen in public. From Charu accusing Rajeev of physical abuse to Rajeev's claims of Charu’s extra-marital affair, the couple had an ugly spat.

Rajeev claimed that Charu had an extra-marital affair with actor, Karan Mehra. Charu, who denied all the accusations levied by Rajeev, stated in an interview with Hindustan Times that since she came from a small place and it was her second marriage, she endured all the pain and harassment since she wanted to give her marriage another chance. However, it had been long since she bared everything, but the relationship had only turned toxic.

Charu and Rajeev’s mutual divorce

After a lot of mudslinging, Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen divorced mutually in 2023. It was Rajeev, who announced the news of his divorce from Charu and stated that the two will remain cordial to each other for their daughter. In his words:

“There are no good byes! Just two people who just couldn’t hold on to each other. Love will stay. We will always remain mom and dad to our daughter.”

After her divorce from Rajeev, Charu has been taking care of her daughter, Ziana as a single mother. She has been raising her daughter while balancing her professional commitments. Charu chose to maintain a cordial equation with her ex-husband, Rajeev Sen, and her former in-laws. Revealing the reason for the same, the diva shared that she wants to keep everything simple for her daughter.
