Celina Jaitly Recalls Her Last Phonic Conversation With Her Brother, 'I Am Waiting To Hear...'

Celina Jaitly is a former actress and is widely known for winning the Femina Miss India 2001. She has been very vocal about everything related to both her personal and professional life. A while ago, she shared a heartwrenching message wishing a safe return of her brother. For the unversed, Celina’s brother, Maj. (Rtd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, was allegedly detained in the UAE since September 2024. In a lengthy note, Celina recalled her last phonic conversation with her brother.

On November 23, 2025, Celina Jaitly shared a lengthy heartwrenching note expressing her feelings for her brother, Maj. (Rtd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly. She mentioned that it’s been more than one year, since her brother has been detained. She mentioned that ever since her brother was put into custody, there has been a constant countdown involving fear and hope. Celina added that she misses her brother and is waiting to hear his voice and see his face. She also expressed her fear about her brother’s present condition. She wrote:

"From the Battlefield to a Cell, The Unspoken Pain of an Indian Soldier, 444 Days Without My Brother! It’s been 1 year, 2 months, 17 days, 443 days in total, 10,632 hours, 637,920 minutes…since my brother, Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly,(Retd) was taken. Since he was 1st abducted, held incommunicado for eight long months, then kept in detention somewhere in the Middle East, my life has been a countdown of fear, hope & unbearable silence. I am waiting to hear his voice, I am waiting to see his face, I dread what they have done to him."

In the same note, Celina recalled her last conversation with her brother, Maj. (Rtd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly over the phone. Celina explained why she has been dreading about her brother. She mentioned that her brother expressed pain through his words during their last call. She shared that she has more questions than answers. She wrote:

"I dread it because only I know who he was when he was whole, & I dread it because I know what he managed to communicate in that one final call…A call made to the only number he could still remember. A call carrying more pain than words. A call carrying more truth than the world is ready to face. I have more questions than answers, so much terror in every second that passes."

In the same note, Celina Jaitly opened up about her brother’s sacrifice for the nation. She shared that her brother suffered many injuries from his line of duty. He had also sacrificed his youth and life for the country. She mentioned that her brother lived and bled for the flag. Later she also demanded answers from the government regarding the soldiers’ safety.

Celina ended her heartwrenching note with an emotional message for her brother. She also recalled some valuable words said by her late father. Addressing her brother, Celina wrote that she has lost everything finding him. But she will not stop and not give up until her brother returns safely to his country. She wrote:

"As my late father, Col VK Jaitly (SM), always said, 'If you want to honour a soldier, be an Indian worth dying for.' Bhai I have lost everything finding you. I will not stop, I will not give up till he is back to the soil of his Bharat, the country he gave up all for!! Kalika Mata Ki Jai."
