The death of Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old girl, has put the emerging singer, D4vd of Romantic Homicide fame, at the centre of a possible homicide case. After months of investigation, links have been found suggesting that Celeste and D4vd might have known each other, reportedly making him a suspect. However, despite the progress in the investigations, Celeste Rivas' cause of death is yet to be found. And there is a high chance that it might never be determined ever. 

Why Celeste Rivas' cause of death might never be known? 

While D4vd was performing in Minneapolis as part of his tour, his Tesla was parked at the Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles. After complaints of a foul smell emanating from the car, the police were called. Inside the trunk, a discomposed body was found. After investigations and an autopsy, the deceased was found to be Celeste Rivas, and she was declared dead a day before her 15th birthday on September 8, 2025. However, she had been deceased for a long time.

TMZ reported that the teen's body was not only extremely decomposed, but it was also dismembered. Certain body parts were also frozen, and in the process of thawing when police discovered the deceased in the trunk of the Tesla registered under D4vd's name. A source revealed to the outlet that with the body so severely decomposed, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office has been struggling to pinpoint an exact cause of death. It is very likely that unless the killer is found and divulges information, the situation surrounding Celeste Rivas' taking her last breath might never be found. 

Additionally, a source shared with Rolling Stone that Celeste Rivas' remains might have been refrigerated before being put in a plastic bag and shifted to the Tesla's trunk. A final autopsy is reportedly being performed, and the investigators are trying to determine if the body was tampered with by freezing it. It is important to note that this information has been shared by anonymous sources with outlets, and there is no official confirmation. 

D4vd is named as a suspect in the murder of Celeste Rivas, and there is potentially a second person, too

According to reports, months after finding the heavily decomposed and allegedly dismembered body of Celeste in D4vd's Tesla on September 8, 2025, the singer was identified as a suspect. Several reports had also suggested that there were speculations among the authorities that, given the way the body was dismembered, the killer might have had help from someone else. Now, in a recent update, Mark Geragos, a lawyer, said in the 2 Angry Men podcast that another individual may have been inside the car where the body was found. 

The authorities told TMZ they weren't planning to make an arrest soon. Moreover, the report also suggests that although D4vd is being seen as someone who had a more direct role in Celeste's death, he isn't a suspect on paper. Despite this, D4vd has reportedly not been cooperating well with the investigators.
