Separation and divorce are the ugliest aspects of any relationship, and it becomes dirtier when kids get involved in the fiasco. While some couples try to co-parent their kids even after their separation, some fight for legal custody. And some even don’t let their partner meet the child. The same has happened with many celebrities too.
Over the years, we have witnessed many fallouts between leading couples in the entertainment world. It either leads to ugly public spats or solves the issue behind closed doors. But there are a few celebrities who were not even allowed to meet their kids. Let us look at some of the leading names of the entertainment world who struggled to meet their kids after an ugly divorce or separation.

One of the most sought-after cricketers in India, Shikhar Dhawan didn’t have a successful personal life. The popular cricketer got married to Aesha Mukherjee in 2012, and the couple welcomed a baby boy, Zoravar, in 2014. However, in 2020, the couple went through a rough patch and filed for divorce. Ever since their divorce, Aesha shifted to Australia and took their son, Zoravar, with her and did not let Shikhar meet his son.
In 2023, the Delhi family court ordered Aesha Mukherjee, to bring their son, Zoravar to India and stated that a mother alone does not possess all the rights over a child. Recently, the cricketer was granted divorce, and the court revealed that Shikhar was subjected to mental agony and cruelty by Aesha Mukherjee, forcing him to live separately from his only son, Zoravar.

Famous television actors, Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Shaikh tied the knot in 2012. They welcomed a daughter, Ayra through surrogacy. After 9 years of marital bliss, the couple decided to part ways and were granted divorce in 2022. After the divorce, Ayra’s custody went to Sanjeeda.
After their divorce, it was reported that Sanjeeda stopped Aamir from meeting their daughter as they decided not to co-parent Ayra. When Sanjeeda was asked about the same, the actress stated that she is trying her best to provide everything to her daughter and keep her in a positive environment.

Businessman, Raj Kundra and actress, Shilpa Shetty began their forever journey in 2009, but before marrying Shilpa, Raj was married to Kavita Kundra in 2003. The couple was blessed with a daughter, but after Raj and Kavita went through a lot of differences, the couple got legally separated in 2006. In a throwback interview with Pinkvilla, Raj once opened up about fighting for the custody of his daughter and the British laws only gave him access to meet her and take her home once a week.
After some time, Kavita stopped Raj from meeting their daughter. In the same interview, Raj revealed how he saw his daughter only for her first 40 days and stated:
“I know she will come and find me when the time is right. I only saw her for her first 40 days and then I moved to India after my marriage to Shilpa. Kavita didn’t want me near my child. Courts also favoured the mother at that age.”
Indian cricketer, Mohammad Shami got married to Hasin Jahan in 2014 and welcomed a daughter, Aaira into their lives. However, in 2018, Mohammad Shami’s wife, Hasin Jahan accused the cricketer of domestic violence and extramarital affairs. She posted screenshots of Shami's alleged WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger conversations with multiple women on her Facebook account.
Hasin Jahan and Mohammad Shami have reportedly parted ways, and she holds the custody of their daughter, Aaira. Throughout this conflict, Mohammad Shami was distanced from his daughter by Hasin. Time and again, the cricketer has expressed his yearning to meet his daughter, Aaira, but couldn’t do so because of the legal battle.
In early 2023, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s personal life came under the limelight after his wife, Aaliya, levied serious allegations against the actor for torturing her and her kids. Problems crept up when Aaliya, who lived in Dubai along with their children, Shora and Yani landed up in Mumbai and started a legal battle against the actor.

Nawaz later claimed that his kids were kept as hostages by Aaliya, who did not let him meet them. He later filed a habeas corpus petition and told the Bombay High Court that he wanted to see his two children, and if that was done, then he would withdraw his habeas corpus petition.
Shweta Tiwari had tied the knot with Raja Chaudhary in 1998 at the mere age of 19. Two years into their marital bliss, the couple welcomed a daughter, Palak Tiwari, into their lives. But Shweta and Raja’s relationship turned ugly when she became a victim of domestic violence at the hands of Raja. After six years of legal battle, Shweta got a divorce from Raja.
After their separation, Shweta had taken custody of their daughter, Palak. Shweta raised Palak single-handedly, keeping her away from her biological father, Raja. After 13 years, Raja met Palak in 2021. In an interview with BollywoodShaadis, Raja Chaudhary revealed that he was separated from Palak when she was seven years old and missed the major part of her childhood.
After her divorce from Raja Chaudhary, Shweta decided to give love another chance and got married to actor, Abhinav Kohli in 2013. However, she parted ways with him in 2019 due to him being physically violent. Together, they have a son, Reyansh Kohli, who lives with Shweta.
However, in an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Abhinav made shocking claims that his estranged wife, Shweta didn’t let him meet Reyansh for nine months. He also talked about filing a petition in the Bombay High Court and made an appeal to let him meet his son.
Television actor, Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal tied the knot in 2012 and welcomed their son Kavish in 2017. The image of their happy married life turned ugly when Nisha lodged a complaint of domestic violence against Karan. He was arrested, and soon, the once madly-in-love couple levied an array of allegations against each other.
During their spat, Nisha didn’t let Karan meet their son, Kavish and the actor talked about his painful ordeal in an interview with Hindustan Times. Talking about the same, Karan stated:
“It has been more than three months and I am fighting the battle. The matter is subjudice so I don’t want to talk much about it. I have not seen Kavish since more than 100 days, not able to enter my home or take my belongings. It has been an emotional, disturbing and painful time.”
Being a public figure is not easy, especially when it comes to divorces and separation as the kids bear the brunt of it.
