Indians have a deep rooted connection with weddings, since they are no less than any lavish extravaganza. The wedding celebrations begin with month-long preparations and cover everything including some fine last-minute changes. However, weddings take an altogether different dimension when people start rooting for their favourite celebrity weddings, which according to them become one of the dreamiest affairs ever witnessed. Speaking about celeb weddings, while there have been surely many ceremoniously expensive affairs, there have also been a few celebs who kept their wedding low key and went on to tie the knot in a temple. Tarzaan: The Wonder Car fame, Vatsal Sheth married television actress, Ishita Dutta on November 28, 2017. The couple opted for a low-key ceremony as they tied the knot at ISCKON temple, Juhu. They followed a traditional Bengali wedding ceremony, paying tribute to Ishita’s hereditary roots.

Iconic actor, late Shammi Kapoor met his soulmate, Geeta Bali in the year 1955 as they came together for the film, Rangeen Raatein. Thereafter, they tied the knot four months later in a simple ceremony at the Banganga Temple, Mumbai.
Sanjay Dutt gave love a second chance when he met model, Rhea Pillai. She gave Sanjay all the emotional and mental stability precisely after his broken relationship with Madhuri Dixit. Moreover, he had also previously burdened the grief of the death of his first wife, Richa Sharma. Thereafter, they tied the knot in 1998. However, they went low-key and got married at the Mahalakshmi Temple in Mumbai.

Sridevi hit the headlines when she eloped and wedded an already-married man, Boney Kapoor. Essentially, Sridevi was the reason for Boney’s troubled wedding with his first wife, Mona Shourie. Therefore, on June 2, 1996, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor tied the knot in a temple. Interestingly, by then, Sridevi was also pregnant with her first child with Boney Kapoor.
Talented actor, Paresh Rawal tied the knot with former Miss India, Swaroop Sampat in 1987. Much like their relationship, they kept their wedding under wraps and got married in a hush-hush ceremony. However, in comparison to any lavish ceremony they got married in Lakshmi Narayan Temple and that too under the shades of big banyan trees and not around the ceremonious fire.
Filmmaker, Mohit Suri met his soulmate, Udita Goswami when he directed her for his debut film, Zeher. They hit off instantly and thereafter, fell in love with one another. After dating for almost nine years, the couple finally tied the knot at ISCKON Temple, Juhu in 2013.
F.I.R fame, Kavita Kaushik married her long-time beau, Ronnit Biswas in January 2017. Ronnit was Kavita’s second chance at love after being heartbroken in quite a few previous relationships. The duo made their wedding memorable as they tied the knot in the blissful Shiv-Parvati temple in Kedarnath.

Eminent singer and composer, late Gulshan Kumar’s son, Bhushan Kumar married his ladylove and actress-turned-producer, Divya Khosla on February 13, 2005. Divya was merely 21 at that time. The duo chose to tie the knot at the legendary Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu.
Abhishek Kapoor is renowned for directing notable films like Kedarnath, Rock On, Fitoor among others. Interestingly, he happens to be the cousin of Bollywood sibling duo, Ekta Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor. Speaking about his personal life, Abhishek tied the knot with Sweden-based Indian actress, Pragya Yadav in a traditional wedding at ISCKON Temple, Juhu in 2015.

Nikita Sharma rose to fame with her stint in the serial, Swaragini. Thereafter, she made her way to the hearts of the audience with her performance in the show, Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. Coming to her personal life, she married her long-time beau, Rohandeep Singh in 2021. Intrestingly, the couple tied the knot in Triyuginarayan Temple in Uttarakhand, which goes by the legend that Lord Shiv and Goddess Parvati had got married over there.
Dharmendra and Hema Malini’s daughter, Esha Deol tied the knot with her childhood sweetheart and diamond merchant, Bharat Takhtani on June 29, 2012. The couple got married in a traditional South Indian wedding ceremony, which paid ode to Esha’s maternal roots. Moreover, they ditched lavish destinations and became each other’s forever at ISCKON Temple, Juhu.
