Charlie Kirk passed away on September 10, 2025, after being fatally shot in the neck. However, questions surrounding the story of his death have once again become the talk of the town. The topic came back into the light after a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) featured comments from Conservative commentator, Candace Owens' latest YouTube stream about Charlie's widow, Erika Kirk, and the timeline of her mother's health. According to reports, the claims are based on social media activity and what people think the person meant.
A clip from Candace Owens' recent YouTube discussion has been garnering significant attention online. In it, she can be seen talking about how Erika Kirk's actions in the days leading up to her husband, Charlie Kirk's, death may not have been real. Noting the inconsistencies in Erika's account, Chandace claimed that Erika's being in the hospital with her mom on September 10, 2025, was a lie because her mother was not in the hospital that day. Candace further claimed that Erika made it seem like her mother was dying. This was especially the case after Erika posted her mother on September 8, 2025, just two days prior to Charlie Kirk's death, while she hadn't posted her in years.

Candace alleged that it was totally intentional on Erika's part to post a video of her mother looking frail and sick. Not holding back, Candace said that she is tired of pretending Erika was not using her Instagram to manipulate the public. This is because, according to her claims, it is suspicious that Erika went from her mom not wanting to be posted on Instagram and then not posting her mom on Instagram for two years to suddenly posting her two days before Charlie got assassinated. To quote Candace's exact words:
And suddenly she posts a video of her mother looking frail and sick. This is intentional, okay? I'm tired of pretending that Erika was not using her Instagram to manipulate us, okay? You don't go from, my mom doesn't want to be posted on Instagram, I don't post my mom on Instagram for two years, to I'm now going to post her in a frail condition two days before Charlie gets assassinated. That feels manipulative to me…”

After Candace Owens' strong words in her recent YouTube stream, she has faced both support and criticism. While some people claimed that the analysis Candace made is necessary to challenge already accepted stories surrounding Charlie Kirk's death, others think that she was just making guesses without any valid proof. One user on X wrote, “No one should care what Candace thinks. None of it is real. It’s all just a construct set up to feed a greedy person who is a vampire feeding off the rage she induces. Let her starve, ignore her if you don’t agree with her.”

Another wrote, “She can’t fathom the idea that people post things that mean something to them. Just because she doesn’t understand strong family bonds doesn’t mean it’s sinister.” A comment read, “Erika: ‘Respecting my mom's privacy.’ Also Erika: films her mom sick.” A fourth user penned a long note and wrote:

“I’m not privy to how often Erika did or didn’t post her mother dating back years, but if what Candace is saying about the timing and frequency are true, there are plenty of rational non-suspicious explanations—like Erika decided to randomly post her mom or her mom took a turn for the worse and she wanted prayers or she talked it over with her mom and her mom was ok with her posting. I randomly post family photos sometimes on my Instagram. It’s very rare and increasingly more rare, but I do it out of the blue here and there. Candace is conveniently skipping over all other explanations and going straight to “suspicious.” As per usual.”
