Indian weddings are a blend of age-old rituals and personalisation. A few years ago, there came a point when the bride and groom would host grand weddings with extravagant celebrations, sometimes outside India and whatnot. But nowadays, couples are getting back to their roots and seeking blessings of their Gods and Goddesses on the biggest day of their lives. While some are getting married at Triyuginarayan Temple, some are hosting a 'Siya Ram' inspired wedding. Now, we stumbled upon a Braj-Holi-Inspired Haldi ceremony with the bride turning into Radha Rani, and oh boy, it was no less than a dev-Holi with Krishna's natkhat leela and Radha Rani's beauty which reflected on the bride's face.
Indian bride, Harriddhi's only wish was to have a Haldi celebration inspired by Barsana-theme and blessing of Radha-Krishna, whose love story is always etched close in every Santani's heart. So, to seek Krishna's blessings and Radha's presence. The bride turned up on the big day as Krishna-sakhi and took inspiration from Radha Rani's way of dressing, simplicity and poise.
For the Haldi, the bride ditched the usual yellows and whites and picked a bright rani pink lehenga with two-coloured dupattas. Her outfit featured floral zardozi and zari embroidery over her silk lehenga. She styled it with a purple-toned dupatta pinned over her one shoulder and another aqua blue-toned dupatta with kiran border.
The bride accessorised her look with a choker, a layered neckpiece, and matching jhumkas with sheesh patti, bangles and haath phool. Her makeup was kept minimal yet glowing with soft pink blush, natural brows and eyeshadow and nude pinkish toned lipstick. It was her bindis over the corners of her eyes that made her look as complete as Radha Rani. Talking about her hairstyle, she opted for a loose braid with kamal phool adorned in the centre and gajras. On the other hand, her groom was dressed up in a golden-toned sherwani with an aqua blue sleeveless jacket.
When we talk about inviting Radha-Krishna, we can't do it without remembering their Brij Bhoomi, which they love so dearly. It is said that Radha Krishna still rules every lane of Vrindavan. For the Haldi ceremony, the bride and the groom made their own Barasana, Radha Rani's hometown in Brij Bhoomi, Vrindavan.

They even recreated Barsana's magic with Radha-Krishna. The place was decorated with layers of pretty flowers, they had flower Holi. It also had famous lassi dukaan, gajra mandis and teeny-tiny details remembering the magic of Lord Krishna. We were in awe of how the couple smeared rang on each other's faces on the occasion of their Haldi. It was nothing less than magic.
What do you think about this beautiful Haldi ceremony with Radha-Krishna as an invitee with their own Barsana?
