Kartikey and Amanat’s high-profile wedding was held in the iconic Umaid Bhawan Palace, the very same venue that hosted the royal union of Bollywood actress, Priyanka Chopra and American singer-actor, Nick Jonas. Amid the desert, Umaid Bhawan Palace transformed into a vision of opulence. The palace was lit up like a jewel, with intricately decorated lawns and floral installations.
The main ceremonies, including the varmala and saat pheras, were held at the Badri Lawn under a canopy of flowers and twinkling lights. Evening festivities and lavish dinners took place on the palace’s main lawn.
A video shared by WeddingSutra on Instagram beautifully captured the pre-wedding scenes where the bride and groom were seen having the time of their lives, together with family, friends, good food, DJ beats, and a whole lot of dancing.
The wedding festivities kicked off with the mehendi and sangeet ceremony. The bride, Amanat looked radiant in a traditional lime green and gold sharara set intricately embroidered with zardozi work. During the sangeet, the groom's father, Shivraj and Sadhana Singh performed a delightful duet to the classic Bollywood number, Chand Sa Roshan Chehra, while Sadhana and her daughters-in-law gave a touching performance dedicated to the bride on Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari. The bride and groom also performed a beautiful duet.
The second day of the celebration started with a dreamy haldi ceremony at the palace courtyard, Amanat wore a simple yet stunning yellow sharara with golden work, while Kartikey donned a traditional white kurta-pajama with a mustard stole. Later that evening, the baraat procession began with royal grandeur. Kartikey arrived in a majestic two-horse-drawn chariot, accompanied by over a dozen horses, camels, and palanquins.
For the couple’s grand wedding, the palace was lit up in shades of gold and maroon. The bride, Amanat made a breathtaking entrance for the varmala, dolled up in a deep red lehenga intricately hand-embroidered with golden motifs by ace designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Her bridal jewellery featured uncut diamonds, emeralds, and traditional polki work, reflecting the royal charm of Rajasthan.
The groom, Kartikey, complemented her look in a cream and gold sherwani, an elaborate layered necklace, and a traditional sword tucked into his waistband, symbolising royalty.
The couple exchanged garlands under a grand floral canopy, followed by the sacred pheras. While they took seven vows holding hands, promising to support each other through life’s journey, they also took an eighth vow – to serve nature. Both pledged to plant trees on their birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions.
