Motherhood is the most beautiful phase in a woman's life as after nine months of a roller-coaster pregnancy phase, the joy of holding her own child, her own creation, is unmatched! But delivering a baby isn't a cakewalk. There are majorly two ways to give birth to a child. One is the natural way (vaginal delivery) and the other is the Caesarean delivery, also called C-section. In the C-section method of delivery, the babies are delivered surgically through incisions in the abdomen and uterus. C-section is opted by mothers or prescribed by gynaecologists to the expecting woman, whose vaginal delivery would risk the mother or her child's health.
For some women, who expect or wish to have a normal delivery, C-section comes as a disappointment as it is followed by the worries of surgery and a longer and tougher post-delivery recovery period. But while some opt for elective C-section delivery, others' medical conditions decide which method of delivery they will have to go for. Celebrities are no exception. Here's the list of Bollywood celebrity mothers, who opted for the C-section to give birth to their babies.

Like I would get extra anxious. Maybe I would scream I don’t know, but yeah, maybe a little exaggeration is done. Of course, not denying that."

In a post-delivery interview with the DNA, Amrita had spoken about baby blues after giving birth to her son, Veer and revealed that she had a C-section delivery, as planned. Amrita had said:
"Yes, with no house help around, we did not even have the maid during the lockdown. So that threw everybody off balance. You have to do things that you were not used to. My family's really stepped in to help. Also, I planned for a C section delivery. So, post that you're not physically strong enough to carry the baby and move around for at least three months, do a lot of things by yourself. So at that time, you really need the help of your husband, in my case, it was Anmol, my mom or his mom because, without that, you can't plan a C section and deliver. Yes, you get thrown out a little bit, mentally, it's like a shock. Suddenly you get all shook up because your life is not about yourself, you can do anything you want to do at your will or your time. Even drinking a cup of tea is impossible because now it's all about manoeuvring your life and your time table and clock around the baby's requirements. So yes, it is a shock and initially when you're recovering from your surgery, you do get all worked up and stressed, especially the night duties, it all comes up. Then the pandemic really added to that. But each day as it comes, family support, a positive husband has really helped. I have a wonderful baby too, actually."

The tummy swelling takes a while to go and this is day 5 post-delivery. I’m thrilled to have my daughter in my arms but I can’t help but feel hormonally challenged because of all the changes. It all bounces back and that’s the silver lining!"

"I've already started work in the gym although for another month, I have only been allowed aerobic training since I had a C-section. I will start working with my physical trainer, Robert Ballard from the middle of February and possibly if things go smoothly I would be able to get back onto the practice courts in the first week of April. I will probably need another 6 months to achieve match fitness - but all this is assuming that everything goes well and my body responds positively to the workload."
It doesn't matter if a woman gives birth to her child via normal delivery or C-section as in the end, all that matters is giving birth to a healthy baby and experiencing the joy of motherhood. Kudos to every mother, irrespective of how they got their little ones out, they have done a brilliant job!
