Bobby Deol is one of the most popular actors in the Hindi film industry. The actor made his Bollywood debut with the film, Barsaat in 1995. Despite belonging to a filmy background, Bobby failed to impress the audiences with his films. However, after years of waiting, Bobby finally got recognised for his impeccable performance in the film, Animal. The actor played the role of a mute antagonist, 'Abrar Haque'. Moreover, netizens have mixed reactions to his role. And now, Bobby Deol opened up about his role and shared what he thinks about it.
Recently, Bobby Deol attended a session on the second day of Agenda AajTak 2023. During the event, the actor opened up about his character, 'Abrar Haque' from the film, Animal. Stating that he doesn't see his character as a villain, the actor stated that for him, 'Abrar Haque' is a family-oriented man who was just traumatised because of his childhood experiences. Elaborating more about it, Bobby Deol said:

"I didn't think of my characters as a Villian. I saw my character as a child who was traumatised when he saw his grandfather committing suicide, so he loses his voice. He swears to avenge his grandfather's death. He is very family-oriented."

Further, in the same conversation, Bobby mentioned that his character is also romantic. Mentioning that 'Abrar Haque' can give his life and also take anyone's life for his family, Bobby said that violence is emotional and people will connect to it after watching the film. Elaborating more about it, he said:
"He is also romantic, he has three wives. He can kill and also get killed for his family. The characters in this movie..the animal in them has woken up. They are all like animals. That's why there's violence."
Further, Bobby said that Animal is a story based on a father-son relationship, and it shows what happens in society. Mentioning that the kind of violence that has been shown in the film actually happens in society, Bobby said that he is just trying to portray the character and let the audience be aware of what is happening in the surroundings. In his words:
"This is a family drama, a father-son story, and family-oriented relationships. It is a reflection of what happens in a society. Definitely, action like that is visually created so that people get intrigued but that kind of action, that kind of violence exists in our society."

Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Spy, Bobby opened up about his viral 'Jamal Kudu' dance. Talking about the same, the actor credited the director of the film, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, for having a great sense of filmmaking. He also shared being clueless about how he would perform the dance. Recalling how he devised the famous step, Bobby said that when he used to visit Punjab, he would get drunk and dance, keeping the glass over his head. Talking about the popularity of 'Jamal Kudu', Bobby said that he has been watching reels, where people are insanely copying the steps.
