Lalisa Manobal, aka Lisa, is a singer and rapper of the popular K-pop girl group, BLACKPINK. She had recently participated in one of Paris’ top three cabaret shows. Since then, Lisa has been on the receiving end of much flak from the K-netizens.
In September 2023, Lisa achieved a significant milestone in her career by becoming the first K-pop artist to perform at the infamous Cabaret, Crazy Horse Paris, a show known for its nude performances. However, the Korean netizens took matters into their own hands and bashed Lisa left, right and centre, both before and after her performances.

Recently, BLACKPINK Lisa’s fans were utterly shocked when her personal Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website, got suspended. Some reports even suggest that the Chinese celebrities who attended Lisa’s Crazy Horse Paris show will have to face severe consequences.
Some of the notable names are that of the Chinese actress and businesswoman, Angelababy, and the Chinese drama diva, Jenny Zhang, who are said to be facing consequences due to their attendance at the show. As per the China Association of Performing Arts, celebrities are not allowed to attend shows like this.

To add fuel to the fire, the 26-year-old rapper’s pictures even mysteriously disappeared from the official Weibo accounts of two of the major luxury brands, Bvlgari and Celine. This shocking move by the two brands has led many fans of Lisa to speculate that they may have temporarily distanced themselves from the BLACKPINK member due to her involvement in the recent controversies.
It has been reported that on the night of November 1, 2023, Bvlgari's global Instagram account removed some images of Lisa. Even the CEO of the company, Jean-Christophe Babin, also deleted pictures taken with her. Despite this, fans think that Lisa will continue to be associated with the brands, Celine and Bvlgari, especially since both are under LVMH, which is the family conglomerate of Lisa's rumoured boyfriend, Frederic Arnault.
The Chinese market is a significant factor in the sales of luxury fashion brands, especially in contemporary times. Therefore, if BLACKPINK’s Lisa is banned in China, there is a high likelihood that many brands will terminate their contracts with her to avoid the negative impact of her scandal.
Moreover, there are still uncertainties about the Thai rapper’s contract with the Korean agency, YG Entertainment. If she were to part ways with them, Lisa would face numerous challenges in pursuing an independent career. It is clear that Lisa's decision to perform at Crazy Horse Cabaret can potentially damage her flourishing career.
