Bison X Review: A Gripping Sports Drama, Dhruv Vikram Steals The Show In Mari Selvaraj's Masterpiece

Mari Sevaraj’s sports drama, Bison Kaalamaadan, is making a lot of noise as the film has hit the theatres on October 17, 2025. The film, which stars Dhruv Vikram in the lead role, is a gripping tale of a young man’s rebellion to overcome violence plaguing his village while succeeding as a professional Kabaddi player.

Bison storyline

Bison Kaalamaadan narrates the story of 'Kittan', who is played by Tamil star Dhruv Vikram. He has always dreamt of becoming a national Kabaddi player; however, as cast oppression is common in rural India, Kittan too faces several challenges to achieve his dream. While the antagonists lead violence in the community with their malign actions, it is Kittan who reacts and stands against the evils of the society.

The ‘bison’ in the film is used as a metaphor to signify strength and resistance. A story on the oppressed, Bison reflects many such people caught in the web of society. It indicates what it takes for even one of them to emerge from this world and find some sort of stability and respect in their lives. 'Kittan' is the hope for many faceless Kabaddi enthusiasts in his village, who could never achieve their sporting ambitions.

The film has garnered a lot of positive reviews from the audience. One user praised the film’s background music and cinematography. Besides the lead actors Dhruv Vikram and Anupama Parameswaran, the film also stars Pasupathy Ramasaamy, Rajisha Vijayan, Ameer Sultan, Anurag Arora and others in the lead roles. Produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Seigal, Pa Ranjith and Aditi Anand under the banners Applause Entertainment and Neelam Studios, it marks Sai Abhyankkar’s debut as a music composer. As a movie buff, if you love action and suspense, Bison is a must-watch. Its gripping storytelling has hooked the audience to their seats.
