It was on September 19, 2025, when Netflix's famous Spanish series, Billionaires Bunker, dropped. The show has been created by the creators of Money Heist, Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato. It did end with a finale which was very dramatic, and a lot of questions have been left unanswered. The Netflix sci-fi drama showcased 'Max', 'Asia', 'Oswaldo', 'Guillermo', and the 'Kimera' squad bunkers, exploring various modes of survival, secrets, and survival itself. Now, fans are all curious to know if Billionaires’ Bunker will have a Season 2. Netflix has not given any confirmation related to the renewal, but the creators, Esther Martínez Lobato and Álex Pina, have given hints at the most likely storylines.
The eighth episode of Billionaires’ Bunker was called, “2 Minutes Without Roxán.” As seen in the episode, 'Max' and 'Asia' were seen shutting down 'Roxan', the AI that actually controlled the entire bunker. The 'Kimera' crew was seen panicking, but the power was then restored. 'Oswaldo' was seen to transfer USD 900, but then suspicious signs came. The 'Roxan' screen was seen flickering right on his cellphone.
Then the episode showcased, 'Minerva' making a new scam in Bangkok. When Billionaires’ Bunker was released, fans loved the cutthroat games of power and the suspense of the billionaires. The hidden secrets of the bunker showed 'Frida'confessing to her long-term affair with none other than 'Guillermo'. She did confess the same to 'Max', and on the other side, 'Rafa' admitted that 'Marta' had called him before the demise to inquire about the affair. Due to this, there was a lot of distance between 'Guillermo' and 'Rafa' related to 'Marta's demise. The series showcases how wealthy individuals are depicted as purchasing what is portrayed as a form of immortality. Tropes involve cryonic freezing, downloading what is shown as consciousness in AIs. Well, Alex Pina's Billionaires' Bunker is not just a sci-fi fiction series but showcases what it is to survive a storm. The show highlights the fact that money can purchase a lot of things, but surely cannot buy everything.
By the time fans reach the finale, Episode 8, one can sense that the series has undergone many twists, which unpack the main premises of the show. The series reveals that if the world were to come to an end someday, people would likely rely on the rich, who would be among the first to emerge. 'Kimera' is the owner of the bunker, which has been funded after investing millions of dollars in various ventures, all from wealthy patrons who require a safe haven in the event of a world-ending situation.

The series showcases a geopolitical fight and showcases a nuclear doomsday where clients get trapped 1000ft beneath the ground. 'Oswaldo' is entrapped and then is shown meeting 'Ingrid' in Bangkok. The meeting had a manipulative motive as 'Ingrid' made 'Oswaldo' meet 'Lola', who is actually a fake person. On the other hand, 'Asia' is seen attacking 'Tirso' and also utilising his credentials to create a makeshift bomb from the kettle. The blast was seen again, shutting down 'Roxan'. 'Asia' was pretending to sleep next to 'Tirso', but then 'Yako' had kind of confronted her. 'Minerva' then gave the order to 'Yako' to find 'Max', who escaped.
'Oswaldo' then also understands being financially scammed when he finds discrepancies in 'Lola's narrative and also in 'Ingrid's story. He does try to contact the financial department, but then 'Ingrid' and Luca have tried to stop him. 'Luca' is then seen killing 'Oswaldo', 'Max' escapes, reaches the surface and via an earpiece is in touch with 'Asia'. 'Max' promises to come if life is there outside, and the finale ends on a cliffhanger where 'Max' is seen in the sunlight in Spain.
For the unversed, Paul Simon essays 'Max', Miren Ibarguren essays 'Minerva', Aicia Falco plays 'Asia', while Joaquin Furriel plays 'Guillermo'. Carlos Santos, Natalia Verbeke and Montse Guallar play, 'Rafa', 'Frida' and 'Victoria'. Well, Netflix has not officially confirmed the show having a Season 2, but it will depend on the global viewership. The story does remain open as questions about 'Max's survival come in the picture along with questions on 'Asia's freedom and 'Minerva's all the scams. According to an Economic Times report, Esther and Alex confirmed that they have been thinking about ideas related to season 2. Alex did state that they have been working on what takes place post the finale, but have not yet mapped Season 2. The series is shown to take place during World War III.
Netflix usually makes its decisions based on viewership numbers, international fame, and competition. The report by Economic Times did state that if the season is renewed, then the Spanish drama could have Season 2 in 2026. If the season goes ahead for a renewal, then there can be eight episodes with the same cast, as per a report by The Review Geek.
