Global philanthropist, Bill Gates made his Indian television debut on none other than the TV queen Ekta Kapoor's famous show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. It is a milestone for Indian television as Microsoft co-founder agreed to make a special cameo for an Indian show that deals with family dynamics.
In the promo, 'Tulsi Virani', played by Smriti Irani, was seen greeting the billionaire with the Indian greeting, Jai Shri Krishna. However, everyone was left surprised when Bill Gates, who was on a video call with her, responded by stating:
"Namaste Tulsi Ji, Jai shri krishna Tulsi ji."
Tulsi expressed her delight by stating how good she felt that he took the time out to connect with her family directly from America, and they were all waiting for him. Bill Gates responded, "Thank you, Tulsi Ji." It is worth mentioning that earlier, Bill Gates made his TV debut with an American show, The Big Bang Theory.
It is also worth mentioning that Bill Gates focused on topics such as maternal and newborn health alongside the charitable efforts of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in these areas. The appearance has been virtual, but it marks a significant milestone for Indian television as it is one of a kind crossover.
Smriti Irani also spoke about Bill Gates' appearance and called it a historic moment in Indian entertainment. She even addressed the issues that Bill Gates will highlight. She was quoted as saying:

As soon as the show's promo was released on YouTube, netizens rushed to share their views. One user wrote, "Damn Ekta Kapoor, doing unexpected collaborations for this show, amazing first Parvati and Om form Khani ghar ghar kii. And now him." Another one commented, "Bill Gates is obsessed with India after America, congratulating Modi by making a separate video, keeping India at the center of the Bill Gates Foundation for children. Posting about India's freedom fighters and keeping Indian faces in his videos."

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 made a return on small screens on July 29, 2025, at the usual time slot of 10:30 pm on Star Plus. The show has been produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and featured the OG starcast, Smriti Irani, Amar Upadhyay, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Shakti Anand, and Ketki Dave. Some new faces also made their presence felt as the new generation, including Aman Gandhi, Shagun Sharma and Rohit Suchanti. The first season had around 1,833 episodes, which made it the longest-running show of that time. However, Ekta confirmed that it would be a limited number of episodes.
