As the most recent seasons of Bigg Boss Malayalam have been superhits, Mohanlal was reportedly paid Rs. 24 crores for hosting season 7 of the show.

As a result, Mohanlal became one of the highest-paid hosts of a regional-language Bigg Boss, after his recent paycheque. However, the highest-paid host of Bigg Boss is Salman Khan, who is seen in the Hindi version of the franchise. Kamal Haasan came in a close second as the host of Tamil Bigg Boss, but for the latest season, Vijay Sethupathi has taken over the hosting duties.
