Bigg Boss 19 had the season's first-ever mid-week elimination on November 12, 2025 (Wednesday). Both the housmastes and the fans were utterly shocked by the turn of events that led to the exit of the beloved young contestant of the BB19 house, Mridul Tiwari. He was evicted from the reality show based on live audience voting. On the surface level, it seemed like Mridul had to go home because of receiving the fewest votes among the contestants; however, was there something more to it, an angle we were missing? Farrhana Bhatt and Amaal Mallik's conversation hinted at it.
Mridul Tiwari's mid-week eviction from the Bigg Boss 19 house was a shocking and emotional event that left his fellow contestants, especially his closest confidant, Gaurav Khanna, in tears. The elimination was a result of a live audience vote during a special captaincy task. During the task, the housemates were divided into three teams, and Mridul and Pranit More were part of Gaurav Khanna's team. Notably, they chose the team themselves. All three from each team delivered a speech explaining why they deserve to remain in BB19, and the live audience voted for the ones they enjoyed hearing the most.

Gaurav's team went first, and he and Parnit met the audience's expectations with their humorous speeches. Mridul's speech did not resonate with many, fetching him the lowest vote not only among his teammates, but among all the housemates, leading to his eviction. With the unexpected elimination, the atmosphere in the house grew emotional, and many contestants set aside their differences to share a group hug with Mridul. The eviction sparked controversy among fans online, with many calling it an 'unfair eviction', and criticising the showmakers. Contrary to the fan view, Farrhana and Amaal felt that Gaurav Khanna was responsible for Mridul's elimination.

At the end of the episode featuring Mridul's elimination, Farrhana and Amaal sat down for a chat before going to bed. They discussed Gaurav Khanna's actions that led to the death of his brother-like friend, Mridul. Farrhana said she felt Gaurav didn't care much about Mridul; if he did, he would have dragged him out of his shadow and let him shine on his own. She referred to Mridul as Gaurav's 'sidekick'. Farrhana stated:
"Ek baat bolu, agar GK ko itni parwa thi na Mridul ki toh wo usko aise overshadow nehi karta kabhi. Usne usko apna sidekick banaya tha."

Amaal agreed with part of what Farrhana said, noting that in Gaurav and Mridul's brotherly relationship, Mridul was the one more invested, while Gaurav maintained his boundaries and didn't give his all in the friendship. He disagreed with Farrhana's claims that Gaurav maintained a friendship of convenience with Mridul, but felt that Gaurav was at fault at some point. According to Amaal, Gaurav shouldn't have tried to make Mridul act according to his game plan; instead, he should have let him make his own decisions in the BB19 house. Amaal's exact words were:

"Wo relationship mein Mridul was more invested no doubt. He loved him [GK] like bade bhaiya. Bohot pyar diya hai uss ladke ne usko. GK obviously loved him...but he shouldn't have guided him only. He always made him decide according to his brain. Mridul ka dimag kabhi bhi nehi chalne diya."
Amaal and Farrhana's conversation opened the door to more controversy and a new angle of discussion regarding Mridul's eviction. Many are now pondering whether the YouTuber has to head home due to the showmaker's plans or whether it was his own closest pal, Gaurav, who knowingly or unknowingly paved the way for his eviction. Notably, before leaving, Mridul told Gaurav that since he was unable to fulfil his dream of winning Bigg Boss 19, he wanted to see Gaurav Khanna lift the trophy.

What are your thoughts on Farrhana Bhatt and Amaal Mallik blaming Gaurav Khanna for being the cause of Mridul's eviction? Let us know.
