'Bigg Boss 19's First Finalist, Gaurav Khanna To Make A Comeback On Show, 'Anupamaa' Soon As 'Anuj'?

Bigg Boss 19, the fan favourite show, is gearing up for its grand finale. For the unversed, the grand finale of Bigg Boss 19 is scheduled to premiere on December 7, 2025. Currently, there have been eight contestants inside the house who are competing against each other. The contestants, Gaurav Khanna, Pranit More, Farrhana Bhatt, Ashnoor Kaur, Amaal Mallik, Tanya Mittal, Shehbaz Badesha and Malti Chahar are currently inside the BB 19 house. Among the eight contestants, Gaurav was the first finalist of BB 19. Now, there has been a huge buzz around his return on the hit show, Anupamaa.

TV actor, Gaurav Khanna became a household name with his role of 'Anuj Kapadia' in the hit TV show, Anupamaa. The show stars Rupali Ganguly in the lead role. According to a report by Times Now, currently the TV soap opera’s present track shows, 'Anupama' (played by Rupali Ganguly), who has again started her catering business in Mumbai. Recently, she has received a lucrative offer from the AK Group of companies. Meanwhile, 'Anupama' feels that 'Anuj' is alive and will soon come over to meet her. The current track is making Anupamaa fans crazy and curious to know whether they will witness the intense chemistry of 'Anupama' and 'Anuj' again or not.

Gaurav Khanna to re-enter the show, Anupamaa

For the uninitiated, Gaurav Khanna had exited the show, Anupamaa, in 2024. There were several rumours surrounding his exit, and rumours were rife that he left the show due to an alleged fight with his co-star, Rupali Ganguly. However, an old interview of his with Pinkvilla has been creating a huge buzz surrounding his return to the show, Anupamaa.

In the past interview, Gaurav mentioned that his character, 'Anuj Kapadia,' is just a pause and has not ended yet. He shared that the director, Rajan Shahi, hadn’t killed the character. He added that he is interested in joining the show and called his character a 'cherished' one. He was quoted as saying:

"Anuj Kapadia, for me, is a comma; there's no full stop. Rajan Sir hasn't killed the character. It's just that there's no space in the story for him. But it is Indian television. Anyone can be alive, and there are many examples. However, that doesn't mean that I'm coming back to the show. But never say never. Why not!! It is one of my most cherished characters, but I think every story has a texture."

When Gaurav Khanna opened up about the buzz surrounding his exit due to Rupali Ganguly

Gaurav Khanna, who is currently inside the BB 19 house, won the celebrity cooking show, Celebrity MasterChef. He grabbed a lot of attention due to his cooking skills. However, it was his role in Anupamaa that made him an overnight star. Earlier, this year, in 2025, Gaurav sat for an interview with Siddharth Kannan and addressed the buzz around his exit from the hit TV show due to his co-star, Rupali Ganguly. He mentioned that a sane-minded person would never leave a show that made him a star because of another person.

In the same interview, the BB 19 contestant opened up about his bonding with co-stars, Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Pandey. For the unversed, Sudhanshu played the role of 'Vanraj Shah', Rupali’s on-screen husband. Gaurav expressed that he can never call his co-star, Rupali, his friend and also explained the reason behind. He was quoted as saying:

"Main Rupali ko friend nahi bolunga. Rupali is a wonderful human being from whom I've learnt a lot. Friend kya hota hai ki main kabhi bhi phone kardu ki ye hai, woh hai... I'm not on those terms with anyone, be it Rupali or even Sudhanshu. Even Sudhanshu Ji bolna chahiye. He's very spiritual, like me. He's a fantastic singer. I'm very happy he's coming out with new songs. I used to say, 'Don't quit singing, please.'"
