Bhumi Pednekar, Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh's next film is, Mere Husband Ki Biwi. The film's trailer has intrigued the masses as it shows Bhumi, Arjun and Rakul Preet in a love triangle fiasco. Bhumi's character, 'Prableen Dhillon', is Arjun's ex-wife and has retrograde amnesia, while Rakul is Arjun's future wife. Now, it looked like Bhumi had an amnesia moment in real as she confused the Kanyadaan ceremony with Godh Bharai ritual.
During an interview with, Hesha Chimah from Varinder Chawla's team, Bhumi and Arjun came to promote their film, Mere Husband Ki Biwi. Bhumi was asked about a wedding ritual that she thought made no sense to her. She began by saying that she loved all the rituals, while Arjun added that she liked all rituals as she liked to go and attend. Bhumi made a fool of herself when she said that the Godh Bharai ritual was only done by males, and she wanted to change that. The actress then realised it was not Godh Bharai but Kanyadaan ritual. In her words:
"I love shaadis. You know something that should evolve is joh Godh Bharai. It is usually the male member of the family that does it. I feel like both the mother and the father have equally bought up the child. I think it should be kind of not Godh Bharai. That is not Godh Bharai. That is Kanyadaan. I realised ki mei galat bol rahi hu kyuki that's when you are pregnant."
Arjun Kapoor who was sitting next to the actress subtly took a dig at Bhumi and called her 'Prableen Dhillon', while Bhumi added that Kanyadaan is beautiful but needs to be modified. When Bhumi was further asked about a relationship kick that would make her run away, she said that when her partner behaves badly with people around. She also said that being too possessive in a relationship was a toxic trait for her.
Bhumi shared that she is fine with not having a man in her life. She is fine if she falls or does not fall in love. She thinks she is happy and has felt completely that way. As what she looks in a relationship is comfort. She wants to be herself and at ease with the person with whom she is in love. Bhumi is a strong believer in the concept of monogamous relationships, unlike her on-screen character in Mere Husband Ki Biwi, who comes back into the life of her husband who has found a new love. In her words:
"I don’t know what is it about me and the roles I do! I keep attracting the women towards my men. But in real life, I’m very possessive in a relationship. I completely believe in the institution of monogamy. So, there’s no chance that I can tolerate a love triangle."
What do you think of Bhumi Pednekar mistaking Kanyadaan ritual ceremony process for Godh Bharai?
