Earlier, in June 2025, Himalaya fulfilled his wife, Bhagyashree’s longtime wish and surprised her with an unplanned proposal in the midst of her photoshoot. In a recent interview with Hauterrfly, Bhagyashree revealed that she and her now-husband, Himalaya Dasani, first met when they were in school. However, it was not love at first sight, but fight at first sight. Eventually, they fell in love. But when she informed her parents about the following, they felt that she was too young for love. Respecting their wish, the duo decided not to continue the relationship. She was quoted as saying:

"We used to study together in school. It was fight at first sight, rather than love at first sight."

In the same interview, Bhagyasharee recounted painful memories when her parents opposed her relationship with her now-husband, Himalaya. Bhagyashree and Himalaya crossed paths again years later after their first breakup. Their feelings resurfaced, but this time, Bhagyashree’s parents were also against their relationship. They asked her to end the relationship in a way that would make Himalaya hate her. Thus, she told Himalaya that she didn’t want to see his face. The phase was quite difficult for them, and thus, they wrote love letters to each other in order to stay connected. She was quoted as saying:

"Breakup ke waqt maine ye bhi kaha mummy papa ko ki apne janam diya hai, islie apka haq banta hai meri zindagi par. So I actually told them ki ek saal ke liye I will do everything that you say. Agar ap rishta leke aoge to uske liye bhi naa nahi bolungi and I will get married to the person that you want me to aur mai us shaadi ko nibhaungi. Us dauran itne khat jo hum dono ne ek dusre ko likhe the aur sab khat ko jalaya mere samne. Us raat bahut royi mai kyunki wo jo bonfire tha khato ka usme bahut dil jale, bahut armaan jale. That was very, very sad for me."

Further in the interview, Bhagyashree shared that she never wanted to get married to Himalaya without her parents' blessings. For the unversed, Bhagyashree and Himalaya exchanged the vows on January 19, 1989. At the time, she was 19 years old. She was quoted as saying:

"Hum kabhi nahi chahte the ki bina maa, baap ke aashirwaad ke humari shaadi ho… unhone diya nahi, lekin fir pair chookar mai ghar se nikal gayi."
