Recently, the media spotted filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's sister and actress, Sharmin Segal's mother, Bela Segal with her husband, Deepak. The couple had an awkward exchange as Bela was about to fall near the stairs. However, when the incident video went viral, netizens soon criticised her. Here's what happened.

Bela Segal was spotted around the city with her husband, Deepak Segal. The paps quickly surrounded them and began taking photos and videos while flashing lights. At that moment, Bela stepped down a stair but managed to stabilise herself. However, she quickly called her husband, Deepak, for help.

Walking ahead of Bela and trying to find a way out through the paps, Deepak stopped when his wife held his arm. She suddenly shouted at her husband and asked him to stop and take her along since she would fall. Later, the couple then quietly left the place together. Bela, a well-known editor, wore a white t-shirt and black trousers. She held a sling bag on her arm while her husband, Deepak, donned an ivory shirt and blue pants.

Netizens criticised Bela Segal's behaviour in her viral video

When the video went viral, netizens quickly recognised her as Sharmin's mom and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's sister. Some netizens found her behaviour towards her husband disrespectful, while others questioned why the video was shared online. One user said, "Try to take care of yourself, stop blaming others for your deeds." Another netizen penned, "The wife is a red flag. We talk about husbands who are red flags. This lady publicly humiliated her husband. Yeh toxicity nahi hai kya.”

Who is Bela Segal?

Bela Segal is a well-known filmmaker and film editor in Bollywood. She began her journey in showbiz around the same time her brother, Sanjay Leela Bhansali did. She worked as an editor in some of his early films, like his directorial debut Khamoshi: The Musical, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Black, and Saawariya, among others. She made her directorial debut in 2012 with Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, a romantic comedy film featuring Boman Irani and Farah Khan.

She is married to Deepak Segal, the Head of Content at Applause Entertainment. Her father-in-law, Mohan Segal, was also an acclaimed filmmaker. According to her social media handles, Bela is a dog lover and often shares pictures with her brother and mother, Leela Bhansali, who is an important source of inspiration for her kids. Apart from that, she also shares pictures with her daughter, Sharmin Segal, who made her debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
