Born in Delhi as Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, Badshah is a famous Indian rapper who has attained a lot of fame with his music over the recent years. Not just in Hindi and Punjabi, Badshah has sung raps in Harayanvi as well and has also given some foot-tapping numbers to Bollywood movies.
Badshah began his career in 2006 with the hip-hop group, Mafia Mundeer, which also had another popular rapper, Yo Yo Honey Singh. In 2012, Badshah broke ties with Honey Singh and released his solo song, Kar Gayi Chull. With songs like Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai and Saturday Saturday, Badshah introduced Hip-Hop to Bollywood.

Badshah’s debut single, DJ Waley Babu, received ten million views on YouTube within 30 hours of its release. The popular rapper appeared in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list in 2017, 2018, and 2019 as one of the highest-paid celebrities in India. Amid Badshah’s immense popularity, the rapper’s infamous feud with fellow rapper, Yo Yo Honey Singh has often garnered a lot of attention. Let’s decode the events of Badshah’s infamous fight with Honey Singh.
Before making his solo career, Badshah was part of a band called Mafia Mundeer, which also had members like Yo Yo Honey Singh, Raftaar and Lil’ Golu. It was in 2011 when Badshah first collaborated with Honey Singh, and their first song, Get Up Jawani, came out. The band for which the two rappers were working, broke in 2012. In a podcast with Raj Shamani, Badshah talked about his collaboration with Honey and stated:
“Mafia Mundeer was a thought, and like-minded people got together. Primarily it was just me and Honey. In 2009, there was a break between me and Honey. I used to do a job and I was very scared. Honey was also off my radar and when I tried calling him, he dodged my calls. But till the time we were in Mafia Mundeer, we never met.”

In the same podcast, Badshah opened up about his tiff with Honey Singh and revealed what went wrong between the two. Calling Honey a self-centred man, Badshah retorted:
“We are also creating so many songs, please consider us as well. We have left everything behind and come here. You (Honey) should not be so self-centered. On the one hand, you call us brothers, but on the other, you fail to acknowledge our struggles. He made us sign blank papers; what about those contracts? It was a tough phase."

Some time back, there were reports that Badshah and Honey Singh got into a brawl with one another at a party, and it turned out to be a physical fight. Post the incident, during a press conference, when Honey was asked whether Badshah was overtaking him as the most successful rapper, the Brown Rang singer stated that there is no comparison between a Rolls Royce and a Nano. He allegedly compared himself to Rolls Royce and called Badshah Nano.
In 2023, Badshah judged the reality show, Hip Hop India. In one of the episodes of the show, rapper, Raftaar asked Badshah about his song, Gone Girl, which featured the line, ‘Kuch logon ka comeback hi nahi ho raha’. Talking about the same, Raftaar asked Badshaah, ‘Bata do na kiska comeback nahi ho raha’, to which he responded sarcastically and said:
“Jisko yeh feel ho raha hai, usko yeh feel ho raha hai.”

After Badshah released his song, Gone Girl, there was a buzz among fans that it was an indirect dig at Honey Singh as it was Honey who had taken a break from music owing to his health issues.
During a concert in March 2024, Badshah, who was performing live, was distracted by Honey Singh’s fans. It so happened that during the performance, some people present in the crowd started chanting Honey’s name. Without losing his cool in the midst of the concert, Badshah gave a savage response to Honey’s fans and said:
“Ek pen aur paper dena. Gift laaya hu tumhare liye. Kuch lyrics likh ke de deta hu. Papa ka comeback ho jaayega tumhare.”

Badshah has a huge fan following worldwide, which makes his social media presence vast. His primary source of income comes from his music career and brand endorsements. He also owns a real estate business in different states in India.

He has diversified his entrepreneurship with a clothing line, Bad Fit, and a production house, Born To Shine. In 2022, the rapper invested in the Ultimate Kho Kho league and now owns the Mumbai franchise.
In March 2024, Badshah invested undisclosed funds for the car marketplace, Droom. As per the founder and CEO of Droom, Badshah’s popularity makes him the perfect brand ambassador of the brand. Speaking about his partnership with the brand, Badshah stated:
“I have been an auto enthusiast for a long time and impressed by how Droom is solving automobile-related trust, selection and pricing problem.”
On the personal front, Badshah married Jasmin Masih in 2012 but divorced her in 2020. The couple has a daughter named Jessemy Grace Masih Singh.
