Badshah Battles Eye Injury: Undergoes Treatment For Corneal Abrasion, Full Recovery Plan Revealed

Rapper and singer, Badshah, is known for his quirky tracks like Jugnu, Garmi, Paagal Paani Paani and Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai. It's given that if the rapper is on your playlist, you will be grooving till dawn, and the artist has been making the entire North America groove to the beats of his songs lately. However, now the tour is over and the singer has undergone surgery to treat an abrasion he had taken lightly.

Badshah undergoes eye surgery

What began as slight discomfort on stage during the last show of his North American tour has now led the singer and rapper, Badshah, to undergo surgery. The 39-year-old rapper revealed on Instagram that he underwent treatment for a corneal abrasion in his left eye. He posted images of himself with an eye patch. He took reference to his cameo in the recently released show, The Ba***ds of Bollywood and wrote:

"Avtar ji ka mukka hit karta hai jaisee."

Now, a source close to Badshah, in a conversation with Hindustan Times, has revealed that the injury first occurred during the last leg of his ongoing North America tour. They shared that the Sanak singer was uncomfortable but continued to perform till the end. He added:

"The Indian doctor he went to see confirmed that she knew something was wrong as he was rigorously scratching his eyes. It turned out to be a corneal abrasion, and he underwent routine surgery for the same."

Badshah's recovery plan

The mishap comes following the end of what had been a landmark run for Badshah. The singer hit a major milestone when he completed his The Unfinished Tour after taking North America by storm. The singer garnered immense love and admiration along with grossing over USD 6 million in ticket sales and drawing more than 45,000 fans across sold-out arenas in New Jersey, Virginia, Oakland, Seattle, Dallas and Chicago.

The scale of the production itself stood at USD 2 million. However, the singer now has to recover from the injury, and the source has revealed what the doctors have prescribed for Badshah. He stated:

"The doctor has asked him to wear the patch for five days."

How did Badshah stay fit during the tour?

Given the nature of his career, maintaining one's health can be extremely crucial. Badshah requires the same as his shows demand more than just showmanship; he has also relied on a strict fitness and recovery regimen. With back-to-back shows across six cities, Badshah's team, led by long-time trainer, Yuvraj Anand, designed a blueprint to keep healthy and energetic throughout. The trainer revealed that Badshah burns approximately 1,200 to 1,500 calories, with his preparation starting hours before showtime.

Yuvraj Anand added that the rapper's nutrition plan consisted of blending complex carbohydrates and protein-rich meals earlier in the day with fast-digesting carbs and electrolytes closer to the performance to maintain peak energy levels. Along with continuous hydration, he also supplements Badshah's diet with amino acids to keep him going through rapid choreography and crowd-charged sets. He further shared: 

"Off stage, his diet combined the indulgent and the tactical. Favourites like chicken tikka and chicken caesar salad paired with staples like dal, rajma or chana with rice, alongside regular doses of avocado toast and veggie omelettes."
