Tahira Kashyap Shares About Her Breast Cancer Relapse, Says, 'Round Two For Me, I Still Got This...'

Tahira Kashyap is a writer and filmmaker. She is the author of several bestselling books, including The 12 Commandments Of Being A Woman. She has been extremely vocal about her diagnosis of breast cancer and advocated the importance of regular mammograms. While her cancer was in remission for the past seven years, things took a turn as the filmmaker recently shared that the cancer has relapsed. 

Tahira Kashyap shared about her cancer relapse

Tahira Kashyap is a director, author and actor, Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife. She is also a cancer warrior who has beaten the disease once before. However, in a recent post on Instagram, she revealed that her breast cancer had relapsed. Nonetheless, Tahira affirmed that she is ready for another battle. Taking to her Instagram, she shared that she is determined to fight the disease.

Tahira Kashyap took to her Instagram handle on April 7, 2025, and shared a note. She revealed that she was not sure whether it was an itch or the regular screening, but she would like to go with the latter. She further suggested that everyone should get regular mammograms if they think there is a need for them. She was quoted as saying:

"Seven year itch or the power of regular screening- it's a perspective, I had like to go with the latter and suggest the same for everyone who needs to get regular mammograms. Round 2 for me...I still got this."

Tahira Kashyap further took to the caption of her post and shared that one should never give up and move forward with good intentions. She showed immense strength by sharing her diagnosis once again. Her friends, family, and friends all showered their support on her. Tahira captioned the post:

"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When life becomes too generous and throws them again at you, you squeeze them calmly into your favourite kala khatta drink and sip it with all the good intentions. Because for one it’s a better drink and two you know you will give it your best once again. Ironically or not today is #WorldHealthDay Let’s do whatever we can in our capacity to take care of ourselves. #gratitude through and through."

Ayushmann Khurrana and others react to the post

Tahira Kashyap was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018, and she openly shared it on Instagram. She once again shared that she was all set to win the battle and that her husband was in awe of her. Ayushmann took to the comment section of the post and said, "My hero." Tahira's brother-in-law, Aparshakti Khurana, also said, "Big tight hug bhabhi! We know Tussi ainu viii lamaaa paa laaonge." Another user penned, "More power to you. Keeping you in my prayers." A user commented, "You will win this one too! Our prayers and thoughts are always with you. More power to you."

Tahira Kashyap has consistently talked about her cancer journey

Tahira has consistently been talking about her journey and struggles with her cancer diagnosis over the years. On World Cancer Day 2025, Tahira shared another inspirational post celebrating life. She shared a series of pictures. It began with a photo of her on the ramp, embracing her bald look due to the after-effects of chemotherapy. She also dropped many other moments captured during her treatment process.
