Indian weddings are an amalgamation of age-old traditions and beliefs of uniting with your other half. The Hindu Santani wedding is all about taking the seven pheras in front of the holy pyre and accepting the person to be your life partner for the next seven lives. While the rituals and traditions we so dearly love often shock the people outside of India. An Australian bride who married an Indian man shared her honest experience and the traditions that left her shocked.

Australian bride ditched red lehenga and opted for royal blue hues for her Hindu wedding 

Content creator, Viktoriia is from Australia and fell in love with an Indian man. We stumbled upon one of her old videos, wherein she revealed the traditions of Indian weddings that can leave any foreigner in shock. Talking about her wedding look, she looked gorgeous in a royal blue-hued lehenga with golden embroidery all over it. She styled it with a matching choli and a dupatta neatly pinned on her shoulder.

The bride accentuated her look with a gold neckpiece and matching earrings. Subtle makeup, soft eyes and pink-toned lips completed her look. On the other hand, her groom was dressed up in a matching royal blue-hued sherwani with intricate zardosi embroidery all over it. They looked like a match made in heaven.

Australian bride revealed traditions that left her shocked

Taking to her Instagram, the Australian content creator revealed that it was a shocker for her as all the guests arrived 2-3 hours late for the wedding, and it is absolutely normal for them. Another highlight of the wedding that left her in shock was the money given by all the guests, which was passed down to her husband's parents as a tradition.

Australian bride revealed that Indian weddings do not have alcohol. For the unversed, no alcohol is kept in the Indian weddings as the groom is decked up as Lord Narayan, who takes home his 'Lakshmi' in the form of the bride. With mantras and sacred vows, they become husband and wife.

Australian bride further revealed that her wedding had almost 80 guests, which was considered a small one. On the other hand, her sister-in-law had a wedding with over 1000 guests. The bride also revealed that her traditional lehenga weighed around 8 kg to 19 pounds. However, she was still able to dance her heart out, and everyone was left in awe.
