That means their bond started long before the NBA came into the picture. Back then, it was just two teenagers figuring out life side by side. Even as Reaves moved forward in his basketball journey, Barber stayed connected to her roots. She continued living in Arkansas and focused on her studies. 

Jenna completed her associate degree in science from the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville in May 2020, graduating magna cum laude. Later, she earned her degree from the University of Arkansas in December 2022 and is now studying at Logan College of Chiropractic. Her life has remained grounded, close to home and family. She has two sisters, including her twin, Jordan Barber Wheeler, who works as a speech-language pathologist assistant. Their family ties have always stayed strong, and that sense of stability is reflected in how Barber has lived her life.

Jenna Barber's life beyond basketball and personal interests

While Reaves built his career on the court, Barber created a life filled with her own interests and routines. She enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. Her social media shows moments of hiking, biking, horseback riding, and beach trips. Before moving ahead with her studies, she also worked at Newark Pharmacy. When she left in August 2020, she shared how much that phase meant to her. She expressed:

During her college years, she was part of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. That time added another layer to her life, where friendships and shared experiences became important. She once wrote, “the friendships college life gives you is indescribable. my heart is so happy.” Barber also shares parts of her daily life through platforms like VSCO, where she posts curated photos, from small details like nail art to bigger moments like trips and time spent with Reaves. It gives a sense of who she is beyond just being linked to an NBA player.

Their story shows how they spend time together. Basketball may be Reaves’ profession, but golf seems to be something they both enjoy equally. In June 2023, they attended the U.S. Open together, and Barber posted about it, writing, “u can always catch us on a golf course.” That shared interest shows up often. Whether it is celebrating birthdays on a golf course or simply spending time playing, it has become a regular part of their relationship. Barber has also been present during key moments in Reaves’ career. She travelled with him during the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and shared photos and videos from the games.  Off the court, their time looked more relaxed, playing golf, walking along the beach, and enjoying quiet breaks between games. During the 2022–2023 NBA season, she followed his journey closely.

After one Lakers game in Los Angeles, she shared a post describing the things she enjoys most, including “lakers basketball, traveling, good company.” Later, during the playoffs in May 2023, she posted another update capturing that phase of life, writing, “3-1 baby!!!! such a fun chapter in life.” Even though Reaves has never publicly confirmed the relationship in interviews, Barber’s posts have quietly told their story. On his birthday in May 2024, she shared a message that summed up their bond in a simple way: “My favourite person. I couldn’t love you more.” Through school days, career growth, and life changes, their connection has stayed consistent. It has not needed big announcements or constant attention. Instead, it has grown in its own way, steady, private, and built over time.
