Arjun Rampal Married Ex Wife, Mehr Jesia At 24, Met In Mumbai, Divorced Post 21 Years Of Marriage

However, Arjun's first love was never Gabriella but India's supermodel, Mehr Jesia. Arjun and Mehr's relationship was a quiet one, and the ex-couple preferred to always keep their romantic life out of the flashes of paps cameras. Mehr had already created a household name for herself even before Arjun became one of Hindi cinema's most versatile stars.

Mehr at one hand was known for her poise, grace and was a celebrated model in the fashion industry. Arjun, on the other hand, was trying to find his foothold in the cinematic industry. Mehr was crowned the Femina Miss India back in 1986 and was having a great career, working with top designers and also dominating the fashion magazine circle. Back then, modeling was evolving in India, and Arjun, on the other side, was navigating the uncertainties of the entertainment industry. Reportedly, Arjun and Mehr's introduction took place at a social gathering in Mumbai. Back in the 1990s, in Mumbai, there were arrays of parties and industry events, which served as meeting grounds for models and designers. Arjun Rampal and his ex-wife, Mehr Jesia, had separated after two decades of marriage in May 2018, and officially in 2019 were officially granted a separation. The actor, once on The Ranveer Show podcast, revealed feeling empty after divorce and reflected on his marriage at the age of 24. The actor shared:

"I got married when I was 24, and I think it is too early; you're too young, and there's a lot to learn and experience. You have to become mature. Guys mature far slower than women do. It's a proven fact that we are idiots. If you want to be successful in it (marriage), wait it out. I had come from a broken home when I was young, and for me to not have succeeded in marriage was something which I really had to look back upon and see how did this go wrong and how did I not see... then I realised why it went wrong and what were the things, and I take responsibility for it."

Arjun Rampal's ex-wife, Mehr Jesia, had stepped aside from the modelling world when she welcomed her two daughters, Mahikaa and Myra. Mehr was at the peak of her career when, for the sake of family responsibility, she stepped away from it and balanced her personal life. For the unversed, Arjun also has sons, Arik (6) and Ariv (2), with his current partner, Gabriella. Earlier, in an interview with Filmfare, the actor spoke about how he changed as a father over the decades and shared:

"The birth of every child felt like a miracle. With Mahikaa, I was younger and more focused on building a future. I couldn’t be as present as I wanted. But when Arik was born, I promised myself to be more hands-on. I think daughters are very sweet. Sons are badmaash — full of energy! But all of them are nautankis in their own way. It’s fun."

Arjun and Mehr had separated after 20 years of togetherness. Arjun's kids held a distinct place in his heart and acknowledged the fact that when he and Mehr separated, his daughters did have a tough time. However, he credited Mehr to have been an amazing parent in their relationship and noted:

"When Mahikaa left for London, I made sure all my shoots were in the UK. Myra’s gone now, too, and I’m proud of how responsible she’s become. Mehr deserves a lot of credit. She’s been amazing with them. The girls had a tough time when their parents separated, but they’ve accepted Gabriella beautifully. They’re like best friends with her. Mahikaa, as my firstborn, will always have a tender place in me. Myra has me wrapped around her finger — aloof one moment and persuasive the next."
