Arjun Kapoor Shares A Rare Picture Of His Parents, Boney Kapoor And Mona Shourie On Children's Day

When we were young and silly, we always wanted to grow old and be like our parents. We thought that they are the luckiest people as they don't have to get up early and go to schools. But when we grow up, we realise that life was better when we used to wear uniforms and our life revolved around study and play. On top of it, growing up brings us closer to our parents and we finally start understanding their sacrifices. And this Children's Day, when the entire B-town is busy flipping through their childhood pictures and remembering the good old days, Arjun Kapoor shared a throwback pictures of his parents along with an emotional note. Arjun Kapoor, who hails from the famous 'Kapoor' family, didn't have a great childhood as he had seen his parents, Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie Kapoor's separation at a young age. Boney was married to Mona and was a father of two children, Arjun and Anshula when he had fallen head-over-heels in love with late actress, Sridevi's beauty. However, when Mona came to know about it, she was devasted but she put on the brave face for her kids and never let her personal differences affect their bond with Boney. She had taught her kids to value family above all and that's what they did when their father, Boney had needed support at Sridevi's sudden death in 2018.

Today, on the occasion of Children's Day (November 14, 2018) Arjun took to his Instagram handle and shared a rare picture of his parents, Boney and Mona together. Alongside it, he wrote an emotional note that can be read as "So it’s children’s day today & I thought I must thank my parents for allowing me to have this amazing life growing up as a child, despite all their ups and downs I was always treated with love respect and care. They let me become my own person and be what I am today. Also, belated happy birthday dad. May your love for matching tracksuits long continue. Love you, have an amazing year and stay the way you are. Miss your smile Mom nowadays more than ever. Hope you are happy wherever you are." Take a look at the picture below:

Coming back to Mona, Boney and Sridevi's love triangle, in an interview with the DNA, she had talked about her sprinted marriage and how she had found her own identity. She had shared, "I had an arranged marriage with Boney Kapoor. He was 10 years older to me. I was 19 when I married him. So I literally grew up with him. Ours was a 13-year-old marriage. So it came as a shock when I realised that my husband was in love with somebody else. A second relationship was something that one had only read or heard about. But when it happened to me, at that very point my marriage was over. Respect, for me, is foremost. Love follows that. As we evolve, sometimes needs change. Boney too needed somebody else; not me. There was nothing left in the relationship to give it a chance because Sridevi was already with a child. Their rishta was kayam. That itself was a big statement for me to opt-out." Mona had shared that the whole drama in her marriage left an impact on her children, Arjun and Anshula as they were in school at that time. They used to get tormented from their classmates, but it all made them stronger and helped them in facing reality She had further stated that she had made sure her kids stay close to their father and don't hold any grudge against him. She had said, "My children live with me but are close to their father too. They travel with him, dine with him. I have no animosity or hatred for the man. It would be cruel if I kept the children away from him because I cannot substitute him. I don’t know how to think like a man. I want him to be happy. After all, I gave up my place so that he could be happy. "

In the year 2012, Arjun's mother, Mona had died of cancer, leaving the Kapoor siblings alone in the big world. However, the actor has always been very close to his mother, Mona, and in interviews, he had often talked about her. In one of the media interaction, he had said, “How do I reconcile with the fact that she’s not here to see that I have created an independent identity for myself, that I run a house, that I’ve grown up to become everything she wanted me to become? For all the sacrifices she has made for me, there is something as payback which sits here right now as I speak to you. I would have liked her to see that. I wish I was in a position where I could tell her that I have managed to make you proud, Ma.” (Don't Miss: Taimur Ali Khan Saying 'I'll Not Do It' As He Stops Playing In Sand Will Make Children's Day Special)
