Armaan Malik shares that Arijit Singh's retirement from playback was a personal choice

Ever since, Arijit announced his retirement from playback, speculations were rife that he took such a drastic decision due to toxic studio culture. In a recent interview with Zoom, singer, Armaan Malik set the record straight. Dismissing the claim about toxic studio culture, Armaan shared that Arijit’s decision was a personal choice. Armaan shared that he and Arijit met multiple times at his brother, Amaal’s recording studio, so he was quite sure that the Tum Hi Ho singer took retirement from playback not because of toxic studio culture. He was quoted as saying:

"I think as another singer in the industry, I can't comment on why Ariji took that step because I also know him as a brother. We've met multiple times at Amaal's recording studio because he's recorded a bunch of songs for my brother as well. And I've been part of those recording sessions. So I would definitely say it's not because of any toxic studio culture. I don't think I've ever had a toxic studio experience in my careet at least. But obviously I cannot say why he may have taken a decision like he did, because that's his personal choice."
