Archita Phukan has become a victim of cyber defamation

In a disturbing turn of events, Dibrugarh Police has arrested a 27-year-old Pratim Bora, who is being reported as Archita's former boyfriend. He is the prime accused in a cyber defamation case. According to authorities, Pratim had used advanced photo editing tools with which he morphed Archita's face onto p**nographic images and then spread those visuals online.

Pratim had falsely portrayed her as a person who had been involved in adult content creation and was living in the United States. The visuals and edited content he had created began circulating rapidly across various social media platforms and led to massive waves of misinformation about Archita's life and work profile.

Police confirm Archita Phukan's images are fake

Senior officials from the Dibrugarh Police have confirmed that the explicit content is fake, and there is no truth to claims that Archita is connected to any adult industry or living abroad. Archita, upon seeing her false images, had quickly filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the Dibrugarh Police Station. The cybercrime unit acted swiftly and traced the digital footprint of the images, which led them straight to her ex-boyfriend, Pratim's devices. A senior officer said:

"She is not linked to any such content nor residing abroad. This was a deliberate attempt to malign her image following a personal fallout." 

Legal actions are being taken against Archita Phukan's fake images

Pratim Bora has been caught by the police for his contribution to creating false pictures of Archita. He will be charged under several sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology (IT) Act. As reported, he will be charged with cyberstalking, defamation, violation of privacy and publishing obscene material online.

The police have issued a warning to the general public, advising against sharing or forwarding these fake images. Anyone found doing so will be punished, as the act is considered a punishable offence under the law. Meanwhile, Archita has reportedly shown immense composure and has publicly thanked the police for their swift action and also urged the public to respect her privacy.
