In a heartfelt conversation with Nayandeep Rakshit, AR Rahman talked about the public scrutiny they had to go through. Talking about the same, AR Rahman shared that the choice of being in the public limelight is intentional, and as a result, the individual's life gets reviewed. He shared that be it a rich person or even God, everyone gets reviewed, thus, he didn't mind getting reviewed, too, for that matter. Talking more about the same, AR Rahman shared that as long as there is no toxicity, even those people who criticise him, are all kind of like a family to him. AR Rahman can be quoted as saying:

"The choice of being in public life is intentional, so everybody gets reviewed. Right from the richest person to even God gets reviewed, so who am I? As long as we stay together and are not conceited or toxic… even those who criticise us — they’re all family."

AR Rahman addresses the limitless trolling

Going further in the interview, AR Rahman talked about the limitless online trolling that one has to go through. As per the music composer, if he makes any harsh or insensitive comment about someone's family, then it will turn back, and someone will comment on his family, too. The music maestro shared that no one should ever make any bad comment about someone's family, and even if someone does, all he reacts is by asking God to forgive them. In AR Rahman's words:

"If I say things about someone’s family, someone will say things about mine. And we, as Indians, believe this. Nobody should say unnecessary things because everyone has a sister, a wife, a mother. Even when someone says something hurtful, I pray, ‘Please God, forgive them and guide them.’"

When AR Rahman's estranged wife, Saira Banu asked fans not to call her his ex-wife

Replying to the same, she shared a voice note with the music composer's fans and told them that he was doing fine.
