Aparshakti Khurana is popular because of his famous films, such as Dangal, Stree, Luka Chuppi, and many others. Before stepping into the world of Bollywood, Aparshakti Khurana wanted to be a cricketer. At a young age, he even took cricket coaching, and he was the captain of his team. As a young boy from Chandigarh, he used to devote all his time to cricket. However, once, out of insecurity, he disrespected his coach, and as a result, his father beat him.
In a recent conversation with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, the actor shared that he became insecure about his captaincy when his coach recruited some senior players for the team. Feeling threatened, Aparshakti then approached the other teams' coaches to ask them not to lend their players. However, when he arrived at the practice the next day, he was benched. He said that he did not know that all those coaches were friends. In his words:

"I was too naive to understand that the coaches of the two teams would be friends with each other."
In the same podcast, Aparshakti Khurana stressed that when he was benched, his father suddenly showed up coincidentally during his morning run. He saw Aparshakti sitting outside the ground. Then, his father went to the coach and asked why his son was sitting and not playing. After that, his father learnt about Aparshakti's actions. In his words:
"As fate would have it, my father just happened to come to the academy that day during his morning run. My father saw I wasn’t playing and asked the coach why, and the coach told him what I had done."
Aparshakti Khurana also shared that his father was quite furious after learning about his son's doings, and he hit him with the cricket bat all the way from the cricket academy to his house. He also shared that his father gave him a lesson that he will forever remember. His father said to him that disrespecting one's guru is a sin. Aparshakti's father also told his son that he would never get selected for the Indian National Cricket Team, even though Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwar appeared on earth together because he had disrespected his coach. In his words:
"You will not believe that for one kilometre from the academy to our house, he hit me with a bat. And that day, he said something, I don’t know if people will resonate with it today, he said the one who disrespects one’s guru… he said even if Brahma Vishnu Mahesh (Hindu gods) land on this earth all together, they can’t help you get into the Indian national team, because you have disrespected your guru."
Aparshakti Khurana further stressed that after that incident, he never disrespected any of his gurus. That incident left a lasting impact on him. He also shared that even today, if someone younger than him trains him in the gym, he respects him and addresses him as 'sir'. In his words:

"Maybe that’s the reason that I… I don’t know… maybe there were some energies that I felt like my mind was diverted. Since that day, I have never disrespected… Even today, if someone who is younger than me and comes to train me in the gym, I only call him sir and there is never a point that I disrespect him."
