The spunky and chubby, Virat Kohli had shot to fame after leading India to glory in the Under-19 World Cup at Kuala Lumpur in early 2008. Since then, there has been no looking back for the cricketer, who is now the captain of the Indian cricket team. All this while we have seen MS Dhoni's wife, Sakshi Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan's wife, Ayesha Mukherjee and Rohit Sharma's wife, Ritika Sajdeh, rooting for their champion husbands from the stands through the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019, we missed Anushka Sharma shouting out for her captain husband, Virat Kohli. Now ahead of India v/s Afghanistan match in England, Anushka and Virat were spotted spending some quality time together before the match.
A while back, a report had stated about how Anushka Sharma is juggling work commitments and personal life to stay by her husband, Virat Kohli’s side for the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019, “Anushka will have to juggle her work commitments and personal life during her trip to London and Brussels. She has two brand shoots that will take up 6-7 days as it requires her to shoot for ads as well as extensive print campaigns. Post this, she will be spending some time with Virat. BCCI has mandated that wives of cricketers only spend 15 days with their partners during the World Cup and Anushka and Virat will be following the guidelines that have been set. Anushka has thus planned her trip and brand shoots accordingly so that she can time her to stay with Virat too."
Sometime back, Virat Kohli had credited his wife, Anushka Sharma for keeping him motivated and was quoted as saying, “People who contribute off the field they deserve a lot of credit as well. My wife who keeps me motivated deserves a lot of credit. She's been criticised a lot in the past. But she's one person who's kept me going throughout the tour. She is a lovely and simple person and she is as honest as well just like I am. And that is what I love about her the most. That is my biggest attraction towards her.”

On Gaurav Kapur’s YouTube show, Breakfast with Champions, Virat Kohli talked about his change from being a Dilli ka munda to a gentleman. In the interview before marriage, Virat had gushed, “It’s the magic of my lady-luck. I didn’t have any senses before, but ever since the lady has come into my life, she has taught me a lot of things. So, I have grown better in the last four years. My intelligence has grown in these years with her. She has taught me manners, gotten me calm.”
He had further added, “Also, she taught me how to utilize your potential to the fullest at whatever point you are in your life. When I was in my bad phase, my flip in my attitude has come because of her and her alone. At that time, she understood what I was going through. She kept me motivated. As a support she helped me push through. She was a constant standing by like a rock. Then when I started doing well, she was still there by my side.” (Also Read: Mira Rajput Kapoor Is Proud Of 'Baby' Shahid Kapoor For 'Kabir Singh', Says 'It's His Time To Shine')
Speaking about his experience with his cricket team, before marriage and after marriage, Virat Kohli had remarked, "You become responsible, that is what I feel. Before you have the responsibility in your life but that is very different. You start understanding things better (after marriage) and start putting things into perspective a lot more. From that point of view, I have become more responsible and that helps you in captaincy as well. It has only improved my captaincy as a human being and player outside."
Being the Vogue cover girl for the March edition, Anushka Sharma had revealed the extent she and Virat Kohli had gone to keep their wedding a secret, which included keeping fake names for preparations. Revealing the details, Anushka had shared, “We even used fake names while talking to the caterer; I think Virat’s was Rahul.” She had further added, “We wanted to have a home-style wedding. There were only 42 people there, with all our friends and family present. I wanted it to be about Virat and me marrying each other, and not this big celebrity wedding. The energy at our wedding was blessed.”
Given the back-to-back projects and work that is keeping the workaholic couple occupied, Anushka Sharma had shared how much time she wants to spend with her hubby, Virat Kohli, “The past few years of my life I have been working so much. Now I have to take out time for what is important to me. Spending time with my husband is important. Unfortunately, we’re hardly in the same place at the same time, so in the time that I have off, I want to prioritise spending time with him and my family.”
Speaking about her current life-state, Anushka Sharma had revealed, “I’m in this space where I feel very peaceful, comfortable, self-assured and, I guess, really in touch with myself one hundred per cent. It’s something I’ve been working towards since the very beginning. All the decisions I’ve taken leading up to now have always been keeping that in mind. I base my decisions on what makes me more peaceful, and nothing else. If something makes me anxious and uncomfortable, I won’t do it, even if it’s something that I know I must do.” (Also Read: Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan And Aaradhya Spend Quality Time With Navya Naveli Nanda In New York)
